Paper-piecing and MORE food photos....

With my left thumb healing after the turkey knife accident, I finally got around to making a paper-pieced card for Moxie Fab World 's (picking-up-pieces-challenge).
I picked up the coffee habit when my David started preschool around12 years ago. Since he was such a fussy NEEDY child who was strongly attached to his mom, it was always a struggle to say good-bye to him at the preschool. He would cry non-stop and run after me as I tried to leave the parking lot. The whole school knew about David. He was the "the boy who will not leave his mom"!  It seemed like forever...he would. NOT. Let. Me. Leave! With the teacher's pursuasion (also for their own sanity),  I reluctantly stayed with David at the pre-school for 2 long months!! Once we had him "trained", I felt GREATLY relieved. SO, at the time it was only coffee that could provide me comfort and joy after I was set free from the pre-school!  I always ordered a coffee after a successful flee drop-off to celebrate! Looking back, those coffee days really helped me get through those challenging times. And then just last week he went to Italy for Spring break without ME! What happened?
CG113 Write Your Own, K5332 Cup of Coffee, CL151 Share Laughte,  Others: Starbucks coffee sleeves, buttons, Basic Grey paper, Bo Bunny paper, Glossy Accent
My DD Stephanie just got her new Nikon flash (as her 21st birthday present) and offered to take some food photos. So here they are -our dinner! Skip the food photos if you are hungry...
Glorious broccoli!
The making of Hot and Sour Soup
Chicken with herbs (from a Parisian market )
And finally, Stephanie's favorite...apple pie!
Thanks for reading this long post . Hope you are not hungry any more :)

Our Matt was exactly the same way in preschool. Luckily there was a teacher there who would rock him after extraction from our car, and he soon learned that school was fun - so much so that he went on to get a summa cum laude from university! I agree, though, wouldn't it be nice to have those days back again when they were little :) Sweet and sour soup!! May I have the recipe, please - it's one of my faves!
Ooops, I'm supposed to be commenting on your card :) LOVE it - your paper piecing is fantastic!! Hugs, little sis!!

Thanks for this little story! My dd is now like this, she walks around the house saying Mama - Mama, all the time! And she won't let us leave her with anybody! So I understand this! At least you had the glorious beverage - coffee! Great card! And pics!

What a funny story Virginia! They do grow up fast after that don't they! My Baby (28 yrs old) is getting married in Sept. And he was the clingy type too! But your story is told so well! You are as good a story teller as a card maker! Love your card by the way and the food photos are yummy!
