(My parents, Stephanie and David-Taiwan ,07)
I'm writing this with a heavy heavy heart to inform you that my father passed away in the early hour of June 1st (Taiwan time).
He was battling Parkinson's and Diabetes and has been suffering a great deal over the last half year. My father had been such a kind and humorous person and shared the love of languages with me. He instilled me the love of learning and showed me the kindness and thoughtfulness in his characters. He made me who I am today. I'm profoundly saddened by this. He was 82.
Over the last few days I have been making phone calls and changing my flights to return to Taiwan for the funeral that will take place on the 13th. My original plan was to visit him and family with my son David on the 30th. The flights on the 30th were booked and confirmed. Now I'm so sad that he departed already...
I will be absent from my blog for most of June. And if there are any updates, I will try to catch up as much as possible upon my return. Sorry that I will not be able to comment like I normally do.
I will be off to Taiwan from June 11th till the 19th to attend the funeral. The flowers photos taken by my DD Stephanie came from my dear friend Karen who had it delivered to my doorstep as soon as she found out the sad news. They brought me much needed comfort! I appreciate your support and all of your e-mails during this most difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
