Stamp It with Markers

I have been meaning to play Moxie Fab's Stamp It with Markers Challenge, so I am finally making a last-minute dash to join the challenge. When I started stamping 15 years ago, my biggest purchase was Marvey Brush Markers by Uchida. I saved up the coupons and bought the sets whenever there was a deal. I had used them a lot over the years, but these days, I used copic markers way more than the good old Marvey Markers.
Sending Prayers
This time I finally took out the Marvey markers and applied colors onto the stamp and lightly spray the water on it. Because they do dry very quickly, having a little amount of water on the colored stamps will help create a water-color like effect.  I used Asian Elements stamp set. The pop-up flower was NOT part of the plan. I made some boo-boo with the markers and I was not happy about it. I took this "crisis" (in Chinese, it's translated as "dangerous opportunity") and came up with the pop-up flower! And you know...I like it even more!
Close up
As we all know about the horrendous earthquake in Japan, this card is dedicated to the people in Japan. I will be sending it to my friend Tomo who lives in Fukuoka. The last time I heard from Tomo was last December. I hope you are doing well, Tomo! I'm praying for you and your country.

Absolutely stunning, Virginia! I remember my Marvey markers! After I bought my Stampin' Up markers I gave them to my son. I miss the days of him stamping with me. Now that he is almost ten, he wants nothing to do with it!
I really love the popped up flower. :)

This is so, so gorgeous! Love how the Marvy's really give the flowers that watercolor look! They are useful for many things! But, like you, I tend to use my copics more too!

I love your card so very very much Virginia and thought that "pop-up" was pure genius until I read your explanation...it is not the pop-up that's "pure genius", it is simply YOU!! Wow!
