Did You know....

"Did You Know..." should be a Monday's feature, but I decided to share this on a Sunday instead. In case you want to try to make some!

Did you know...?
.....what a crostata is? Well, if you are intrigued, read on.
A crostata is an Italian baked dessert tart, and a form of pie. The jams that are traditionally used as a filling are cherries, peaches, apricots, berries. I love the rustic look of the dessert since most of them do not require the use of pie/tart pan. It can be free form!
I found the recipe in my Bon Appetit subscription and was immediately drawn to the photo of Rhubarb Raspberry Crostata! Wow! So here goes...
Start with some fresh rhubarb and raspberry
Chop up the filling ingredients, cook for 3-4 mins.
Then follow the instructions and make the crust...and add the filling like I did here
This is the yummy result (photo credit: my DD Stephanie)

and this... are you drooling yet?
Rhubarb Raspberry Crostata
Lastly, here is my Rhubarb Raspberry Crostata-inspired card. I embossed, masked, distressed and colored (with Prisma color pencils and blended the colors with some mineral water).

I think this is the "reddest" card that I have ever made.
Hope this post make you smile!

I think you will smile more ....if you win some amazing Hero Arts stamps. Details will be in my NEXT post!

Hi Virginia :) This dessert looks so good! I love how it has lots of fruit and not too much crust! ... not that I don't like crust but it's a lot healthier without it! Love your card, your red is beautiful!! Hope you're enjoying the weather (finally no rain here)!
