Did you know....?

.....that I don't sew? Yes, that's one thing I am lacking skills of among the many things.  I do buttons only as I don't own a sewing machine. Halloween is always my least favorite holiday. Not because of the candy corn, ghoulish decors...it's because I don't sew and I can't (and never will) make fancy costumes for my kids. A lot of times Stephanie and David (when they were younger) would whine and complain that they don't have handmade costumes like our neighbors (they dress like royals and look like royals, too!). That's when I would snap at them (like the tiger mother) and said: " Which skills would you rather Mommy have? Cooking or sewing (notice the word-OR, I think I'm "safe" when it comes to cooking )? "  Well, that ALWAYS did the trick--say no more! They would rather be fed all year round than dressed in fancy costumes for Halloween.

Today I'm sharing the card for I'm Sew Excited ! Challenge at Moxie Fab World. Since I don't actually sew, crochet or knit, this is as close as I can get to explore the "World of Seamstress".

Well, it was SEW fun to make this card with Hero Arts Sew Artsy set. With some masking, stamping (using Marvey markers for detailed stamping ), sewing the threads...SEW easy!

Last but not least, I am SEW excited to share some happy photos of my DD Stephanie's grad photos. Stephanie received her Honors Bachelor of Science degree on June 9, 2011 at the University of Toronto. Stephanie is currently working as a research assistant for the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences at the local university. She is planning to pursue in graduate studies, hopefully next year.
Dr. John, I and David attended the graduation in Convocation Hall.
Same university... back in 1985, we weren't married at the time.
And now look at the photos--side by side. Like father, like daughter (you can click on the photo for a closer look--photo edited by Stephanie)
Now where did all the time go? Thanks SEW much for walking down the memory lane with me!
