Tuesday Trigger

I can't help making another sewing-related card after seeing the photo of  Tuesday Trigger (Rainbow Bright).
Those spool of threads got my heart singing!! I'm also entering this card for the I'm SEW Excited Challenge (see here). I didn't have the right colors for the card stock, so I embossed the spool of thread image in white. Then I used my go-to inks (TH distress inks) and inked them up to the shades that were closest to the inspiration photo.

 Thanks to the inspiration, otherwise I wouldn't have come up with the color combo!

Are you having a fun weekend?  Today we went to David cello recital and yesterday David had his last piano recital. We make him He decided to cut back on learning two instruments in his final high school year. It comes down to cello only for next year. It was sad to say good bye to his piano teacher after 13 years (she also taught Stephanie)! We got all teary at the end. Here's a video of David and his friend Laura's piano duet. They have been piano partners for a decade as they started when they were just 7 years old.  This 5-minute long duet is a medley of the pieces (arranged by the talented Laura) that they played over the years! It gets even more exciting at the end. You can fast forward to hear the ending if you are pressed for time.  Enjoy!

How neat that they've been playing together for that long! Love listening to David play! They really do grow up too fast and bittersweet is the perfect way to describe it. We're so proud of the young adults they're becoming but at times wish they were little again. *sigh*

Love your wonderful card! The colors are so bright and happy! Hugs to you, Virginia! :)

Love this card! I like how you were able to riff on both the colours and the spools of thread from the inspiration.
Thanks for sharing the video! The great thing about knowing piano is it will always stay with him, even if he cuts back for now. Very impressive.

What a difficult decision to make - but a smart one, so he can focus on one instrument & also all the busy things that happen in senior year! Still, what amazing talent :) My baby is moving on to middle school this fall, and 'graduating' from grade 6 next week. {sniff!}
And, yikes, I nearly forgot to tell you how much I love your card! The ric-rac & perfect amount of swirly floss...gorgeous :)
