Did you know...

The entry card for Moxie Fab Stamp It challenge, please scroll down
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Did you know .....that I know NOTHING about cooking before I got married? I was such a lousy cook!  In the fall of 1984, I came from Taiwan for my graduate studies in University of Ottawa. I often struggled with the Canadians speaking English and French all around me.  At the local super market,  I once bought Perogi and mistook them for Chinese dumplings!  And boy, what a shock that was! The only thing I cook for myself was hot dog and egg! I made that combo numerous times in the kitchen of the residence. At least I could feed myself! At the time I was studying for my Master's Degree in Education. I was truly a FOB
So after 20 some years of practice,  can you believe this is my latest apple pie?
My daughter Stephanie's photography skills makes my pie SHINE!
"Practice makes Perfect"---so true!
I'm sharing a card that I made when I  practiced with distress inks. Get your acrylic blocks out and ink some distress inks, then with a spritz of water (about an arm's length away) ....this is what you get. By layering the blocks of colors and images, the results are simple yet sophisticated, don't you think?
I'm entering this for the Stamp It challenge at Moxie Fab World (see here
sending hugs
And lastly, do you know what Dr. John is thinking ...about the distress inks that I'm so addicted to!?
Dr. John: " I'm going to launch some inks called Relax Ink ! Why does everyone love to be distressed? I don't get it!"
Yumm looking pie Virginia. My elder one loves it:)) So have to be careful,she doesnt see your post.
Gorgeous card, its such a fun technique.
I am really impressed with Dr. John's humor but I got a perfect answer for him ;)))pls. pass it on:))
Actually the distress ink has the opposite effect on the user...it makes them happy and that results in relaxing them...so if Dr. John launches his Relax inks...and it has the opposite effect then what???? come to him for a CURE...ha ha
It would THEN have another happy effect on the user: to get to meet talented and creative and sweet Virginia with this yumm apple pie. I sure would be standing in the front to take an appointment...
How far you have come Virgina! Actually when I got married I had never cooked! But I wasn't daunted by it at all and opened up a cook book and started to cook! I was convinced that I would poison my hubby and me with undercooked chicken, but I never did! That apple pie looks delish! I've never made pie before (I know I know!) Love your card, I bet you so enjoyed making it! Love the colors! And Dr John totally cracks me up! You know how long I avoided distress inks? I was so thrown off by the name!!!!
Oh, Virginia...Dr. John is too cute! And very thoughtful! Ironically, though, when I'm distressing with inks, I do find it very relaxing! Don't you?
Your food (and Stephanie's great shots!) always looks so yummy and I just know they taste that way! Hope you're having a great week so far!
