Did You Know...

.....that I made this card for Paper Crafts Jan/ Feb 2012 publication call (on the technique "kissing"), but I thought it was not good enough? I thought the music notes were a bit too black and prominent on the images and the colors of the distress inks were too bright...etc. So I did not submit and here it is.
Happy Day
Sometimes we doubt ourselves too much.  Well, the more I look at this card, the more I like it. I wish I had submitted it. BUT I'm happy to share this with you today. And that makes it a HAPPY DAY! Your feedback and comments always make me smile. They are my daily dose of sunshine!

Here's our Monday feature...

I asked Dr. John a while back: "If you were a stamper, what would be your signature style?"
Dr. John: "Clean and simple".

Here is  his "prescription for happiness".  When I started stamping actively in Hero Arts Flickr group in 2009, he wanted to make a card with his own twist. His desire of stamping dwindled since then... boohoo! Some of you may have seen it already. Here's the re-cap.
Prescription for Happiness
Please note: there is NO substitution. Enjoy your prescription for happiness.

I cannot believe you didn't submit this card, V! I just love it and I know Paper Crafts would have loved it too! But I totally know what you mean by doubting ourselves. I do it all the time, usually with good reason. Ha! :) Beautiful pairing of stamps for the kissing technique! Love Dr. John's "clean and simple" prescription card! So fun! Hugs!

What a pity you didn't submit this Virginia... it is delightful. the bright yellow offsets the darker kissed music. Loved Dr John's prescription... you really do need to "seize the cupcake" sometimes and go with

Your card - AND Dr John's (!) are WONDERFUL. And it is so true - but difficult not to - to never doubt oneself because even if you yourself are not satified with it someone else might LOVE it.
I never tried the kissing technique when they showed it on HA blog, but now you inspired me!!! Super thanks and thanks for making me leave here with a smile on my face - your "Dr John" posts always do!!!!!

Oh, I like this version of your "kissing" card, too! And I really like Dr. John's card. I keep trying to encourage my husb, but he continues to refuse to make a card, sigh. :D I think he'd be a CAS stamper, too.
