More Botanical Flowers

Have you ever had used one set of stamps and then you just can't stop playing with that set? Well, this Real Flower set really has my interest peaked! This is my second entry for the Moxie Fab World's Fanatical About Botanical  challenge. The deadline is Aug. 8, so there 's still lots of time to enter!!
My previous card really got me thinking....that perhaps I should go big and bold with the flower. So here is the result. I had so much fun layering the flowers and background with different shades of colors (Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Fire Brick--center only)  and textures. This is really what I love about stamping. You can layer different colors, especially with clear stamps, it works like a charm!
just missing you
And at the end, I decided to add some faux stitching.  I don't know what got to me.....I took out my Tim Holtz ruler and started to paper-piece the holes. Somehow the line had gone terribly crooked, to my dismay!!
Noooooooo!!! After a few minutes, I gathered myself....., I took a BOLD move and paper-pieced the holes along the crooked lines and made another crooked line...and there you see two curvy faux stitching! I actually LIKE it ....a lot!
I {heart} happy stamping accident!

By the way I'm still here....I haven't gone on vacation yet. I will have a few blog posts for my DT and perhaps a little giveaway coming up?  AND I have a secret guest design gig coming up. So yeah, you still have to come back   you are not seeing me disappearing just yet.

Love the stamping - background and flowers are great. Love the stitches too. Before I read the paragraph below the card image, I thought you stitched it intentionally.

Lovely card! The stitching looks great. I really appreciate how you describe your creative process, especially this recovery from a 'mistake'. I am now going to look at my next 'oops' with new eyes. ;-)

Your happy accidents are the best! Love the way the stitching frames your beautiful images. So, if one where to get a pink distress, would you get Worn Lipstick or Spun Sugar?

I love the way you layered the flowers and stamped only a portion of the envie pattern! What a fun way to fix your little accident! It added the perfect finishing touch to the card! Love it, V!

What a fabulous card Virginia. I love the faux stitching and the way you did the flower design

Stunning card Virginia!! When you say "faux" stitching, does that mean you just drew lines between your pierced holes? Because from the photo, it looks like it's real hand stitched! The imperfect stitching is my favourite element on your card--not surprised that you loved how it turned out. When I started using my sewing machine on my cards, I never looked back. Now it's hard to make a card without it--lol.

Beautiful Virginia. I really like the look of irregular stitching. It gives the card nice movement. And those gems are wonderful.

Wait, you mean that stitching isn't real? (Ahhh, hence the "faux" part. I get it.) Totally looks real AND intentional! I love that flower, too, and you are making me want that set! Love it in the bold pink you have done here...so pretty!
