Did you know....

.....that a handmade gift can be inexpensive AND meaningful ( I think you all know that!! )? As long as it is created from the heart, the receiver is almost always appreciative with the thoughts and plans that are behind it. Today I am sharing a little project with you.
Here is a video of David and Laura's piano duet.
video
David was finally and reluctantly convinced (by me, Dr. John and Stephanie) that he should stop taking piano lessons after 11 years. David is now into his last year of high school. With all the heavy courses that he is taking, it would be best that he concentrate on his studies, we thought.  David has won numerous awards for the regional piano competition every year. One year he even represented our region for the Provincial competition in Toronto. All the success were really attributed by his tireless and dedicated teacher-Mrs. Walker.

To thank Mrs. Walker, I couldn't come up with a better idea than this photo frame. The photo was taken in his final piano recital this past June. David, his piano partner Laura (of 10 years) and Mrs. Walker...it was a bittersweet moment for us all. To capture the special moment,  I printed out the photo, then adhered it to a larger card stock and added the special elements for the frame. Voila!

The Music Note and Treble Clef are Hero Arts Stamps. The star, sentiment and year 2011 are from SRM Stickers. It was super easy to create. Hope this inspire you to create a project for the upcoming holiday season. Lastly here is a card that I made for the Hero Arts Scramble challenge with the same set of stamps.

what an amazing gift Virginia. It will be very special to her. I can understand David would be reluctant to stop, but you don't want him stressing out with all the study. Good luck to him for his last year at High School
