$5 Challenge!!

I was happy to see this 5 for $5 Challenge  over Moxie Fab World. Who doesn't like to be thrifty and get a bargain!? Well, I do! I was inspired by this set of card by the talented Jennifer McGuire in this post. Aren't they gorgeous?  I just love the seemingly simple yet sophisticated design.

If you look at Step 1, you'll see the cards that I bought from Michael's. They are the vintage/Victorian style that I do not care much for. I bought them because they were in clearance bin (6 cards with envelopes for only $ $0.50!). I planned to do a makeover when I bought them! This challenge really gives me the perfect chance!

Here are the steps: Gather the supplies, line up the color strips, use a thin strips of paper to glue the three panels together
Stamp the stems and leaves, then emboss the flowers in fine, detailed embossing powder (I used Stampendous).
I am happy with the results :)
THANK YOU
I made 3 cards each--birthday and thank-you
Happy Birthday
It is really easy to make these cards with a bit of planning ahead.
The cost of my supplies:
6 cards with envelopes ----------------------$ 0.50 (clearance item at Michael's)
Coordination paper---------------------------FREE (given out for free in a craft show)
Flower stamp from Real Flowers ----------$ 3.00
Embossing powder/ink---------------------- N/A
Grand total----------------------------------- $3.50

Hope this will get you inspired to create a card set with a very tight budget! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love a bargain? Yes!
Love it when you can make that $.60 purchase look like a million bucks?! ABSOLUTELY!

These cards are beautiful, Virginia! How clever of you to pick up the cards (just for the value of the card base and envelopes!) and then cover them up --- I would have just wrinkled my nose and walked on by! Next time, I'll think again!!! :)
