hello sunshine!

Just sharing two scramble cards that I made in a Scramble Challenge over Hero Arts Flickr group (see here and here) a while ago. The 1st card's challenge was to make a card with the use pattern paper and put something over the edge! This card took about 40 min to complete. The design and ideas came fairly quickly, but the execution part took longer than expected as I had trouble lining everything up exactly. If you like to know the conversation that I had with my son David during the scramble, please click on the card ( it will take you straight to my Flickr site).
hello sunshine
The theme for the 2nd card was to incorporate the color combo, summery theme and Emboss Resist technique. I made this one within half hour!
bring on the happy
With these two cards, I thought it would be fun to have some summer music to go along...I have always loved John Denver's songs while growing up in Taiwan. These two cards reminds me of his song "Sunshine on My Shoulders"! It's such an oldies, but a goodie!
If you do not care for the oldies, here is a newer song that makes me super happy!! I am quite inspired by the colors (warm earth tones with a pop of dark red) in the beach scene!
Have you checked out the "How I Stretch My Stamps" Challenge (on the top sidebar)? I'd love to see how you make your stamps work for you! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day with lots of sunshine

Does David not know what's more important? Yesh! :> Such a pretty fun card on top but my favorite is the flip flop ones, so summery!

I love both those songs - and my 13 year old LOVES that One Direction song. Usually he doesn't like much music (he's autistic & very sound sensitive) but that one he turns way up!
I love the warm colours in the first card, and the dimension of that popped butterfly, and the fun background behind those cute flowery flip-flops!

LOve the color combination in the first card, and the second makes me think of our upcoming trip to Turks and Caicos! John Denver, he had such a beautiful voice. Did you know that there is now a set of 3 children's books based on his songs? I dont know the illustrator off the top of my head, but the artwork is funny and they each come with a CD of the song. Sunshine, Grandma's Feather Bed and the 3rd is Take me home, country roads (I think). I showed Grandma's Feather Bed to my library groups of k-2nd graders, and they loved it. This will introduce a whole new generation of children to his songs! Barb

Love all the elements on the first card (and way to go for creating that in 40 min!) and the coloring on the second makes me want to relax and enjoy summer! And I concur-your teenage sun is more that able to fend for himself :) You're teaching him valuable life lessons :)
