The Most Labor-Intensive Card

Have you made a card that took hours or days? I do have one today. I know.. what was I thinking?  Obviously I don't think much when I am "in the zone"!! I don't really know how much time I spent on making this card since it was made with several sittings. As you may know already, card-making is a lovely (yet can be tedious) process.  I often do not keep track of time while creating. Each little task that goes along with the card-making is a little wonder to me. I really enjoy the process ....how much time it takes to make a card? It doesn't matter any more.
Thanks for everything
I embossed and fussy cut two of the flowers! Yup, just the cutting alone took a long time. And then I decided to enter this card for the Moxie Fab World Stitching and Sewing Challenge.
So I had to incorporate some hand-stitching....well, that's another time-consuming part!
Can you believe it? I actually did the hand stitching during our 4-hour power outage during that horrible storm from Sandy last week! CRAZY....right? I found that calming and soothing during the dark hours (I used a flashlight!). Keep calm and craft on---SO true! You can say that my passion for card-making really shows in this card :)

Thoughts of the day:

All the beautiful details of your card are truly indicative of the time you spent making it, Virginia. I never could have fussy cut two of those flowers. This card is amazing.

I'm telling you, give Michele a call right now, the Lu starburst die should be IN PRODUCTION right now! But in the meantime, this is one heck of a card ... the fussy cutting, the stitching, the colors, the design, just love it all, Virginia!!

I love this post, Virginia! You've explained exactly how I feel about card making - it doesn't matter how long it takes to create a card because we love every step of the way! Your card is delightful! That starburst flower looks amazing and your "stitching in the dark" turned out pretty darn good, my friend! Hugs! :)

Wow! LOVE the flower, looks fantastic and so does the stitching! I often have cards that take forever....I'm starting to get faster, but there are often these cards that I puzzle over that sit out for a while while I try different things/configurations....some cards just need to be coaxed out.

Love the stitching you did, Virginia! By flashlight is amazing! And, your fussy cutting really made this flower pop. And, I love that little blanket stitched circle under the button - just fabulous!

Well, all that time and effort sure paid off. Your card is gorgeous! I love the flower and have sore hands just thinking about all that cutting. Love your stitching too! I'm so glad you found a peaceful way to pass the time without power and I'm glad your power is back on. Great quote too!

Crafting by flashlight, now that is true dedication! I love your fussy cutting. It's so gorgeous and so worth all that effort. I've been in your shoes often, mostly when creating my own embellishments. It's a longer process but so enjoyable.
