As for stepping out of my comfort zone, I would like to try (and become better at) collage or more of an artistic approach to making cards.

Seeing your card, I'd like to try my hands on using graphic style stamps more often and I also would like to get better at colouring large areas with water and inks. I've had a very little success with them so far.

12?! That's crazy...you know you have more loyal followers than that! :) So sweet of you to offer a giveaway, I think this stamp set looks great. Love the card you made with it. I usually lean toward CAS cards, but I really want to try more distressed or vintage/shabby chic. I'm drawn to that style, but find it hard to do.

Hi Virginia...I'm already a faithful follower! I'm new to the blog world (I don't have a blog yet.) I guess you could call it "fob" fear of blogging...LOL! I will start a blog soon, just don't know how yet. I'm new to papercrafting. I have always had an affinity to paper things as a small child to adulthood. I wonder if hoarding pretty stationary is a form of papercrafting? I hope so. Anyway...luv, luv your peektures of your wonderful vacay with the family! I also luv your cards. So unique, so out there (luv the veggie techneat)and just so clean simple. Thank you for being such an inspiration and helping me look outside the box.

Great card, Virginia! My favorite style is elegant, but I like a lot of graphic cards, like this, so I'm ready to expand my skills.

Thanks for the give - away!LOVE that stamp set, may need to buy it - how likely is it to win?! I sometimes try out new things for various reasons - sometimes I am just bored doing similar things, sometimes I really like to try a new technique, or sometimes I just play around. Besides that I love learning new things. I am following you per email - is that good enough?

Dawn Turley said...

Thanks for you generosity Virginia. Your card is very inspiring. You are so very talented my friend.

I love to use several materials! I would love to learn more about mix media technics! Thank you for the giveaway!

I love Ryan's comments! He cracks me up (especially the Michaels receipts one). Today I tried a collage card, an abstract design of layered papers and some stamping and embossing and micro beads. Well, it was interesting if not exactly beautiful. I'm fascinated by the collages of professional artists. Mine tend to look like piles of paper scraps that accidentally got glued together. But, I'm going to keep trying. I lean more towards the neat, tidy, beautifully executed cards that you do. I'm trying to get a little funkier, though, just to loosen up and stop worrying about perfection.

I just LOVE your masculine card...such a beautiful color palette, too! I would like to try more graphic designs on my cards...it's really hard for me to visualize the outcome when I'm playing with my stamps, so I don't usually venture out of my comfort zone.

Already a follower, and love anything you do. Right now my style is making do with what I have, so I have to step outside the box anytime I do anything but the 'norm.' Have a 'flicker' but no pics uploaded to it.
I mostly do 'gifty' sort of things.
