Tuesday Trigger--Two Takes!

I adore this photo from Tuesday Trigger. I simply can't stop myself from creating for challenges like this...Is there a cure for this small obsession?
I started out with a very literal approach and had so much fun adding details after details. These whimsical flower stamps from Howl Are You (Hero Arts) have never been inked up yet, this seems to be the perfect time to use them.

I came up with card #1 which is based on what I "see".
The world is full of beautiful things like you
Lately I like to keep my cards very flat because the postage really cost a lot more for cards with layers! That really discourage me to make layered cards!
I used SRM Stickers (which you do not see here) as a guide on the back of the card and hand-stitched the green floss. Those fine faux blue stitched lines are hand-drawn. I added droplets of Liquid Pearls for extra details. Before you know it, this card was done!

Then I had another idea and decided to take a different approach with the same stamps, colors from the inspired Trigger.

I made card #2 which is based on how I "feel".
thinking of you makes me smile
I embossed the flowers in white and water-colored the background.
Then I added Washi tape, SRM Stickers Stitches (see bottom), buttons, sentiment, hand-stitching and a sequin.

Lastly, here's a thought: We are definitely our own worst critics. For example, I find these two Tuesday Trigger cards are so-so after looking at them some more! But when I first made them, I was super happy about them! What happened? If I keep doubting myself, I think this blog will be very empty! That's why I am still posting these two cards despite my own doubts/thoughts. I wonder if anyone feels that way?

Thanks for stopping by!

You're not alone Virginia :) I OFTEN doubt my cards. The card I posted today almost got tossed in the garbage. I posted it anyway since it was inspired by two challenges and really, what do I have to lose? Weird thing is, I love it now! I confuse myself at times like this lol

I adore both of these cards! Those flowers are the perfect style for the trigger. My eye keeps going to the second one. It's perfectly balanced even though the individual elements aren't symmetrical...not easy to do! You obviously know what you're doing :) Love 'em both!

Great cards for this TT, Virginia! I always adore your cards and haven't seen one a "bad" one yet!

There are times when I don't like my cards either, but I just post them anyway. And, I usually send them out to someone, too. It's the thought that counts, right??

Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog; it is so very encouraging to see a comment from you!

Oh, Virginian! DO keep posting! Your cards are YOUR work. As unique and one-of-a-kind as You, yourself are:)
I find every card to have BEAUTIFUL elements of thier own, something I can learn from:)
I know after looking at other makers' cards I doubt my abilities....but I just LOVE playing along and seeing what happens!
What I like most, is to look and encourage, learn and attempt something FABULOUS! and maybe not so fabulous...BUT I KNOW I'm having FUN!!
Now, I LOVE the stitching on each of these cards...the little bits here and there are just the whimsical feel of the TRigger.
WELL DONE!

So-so? Heck no!

I love your cards! Both of them! I love embroidery, so I was instantly drawn to the hand stitching. Beautiful! Your cards are treasures!

I love the "see" versus "feel" comparison, Virginia! Both are gorgeous, of course, but I'm in awe of your ability to "feel" the inspiration on so many challenges, and the resulting outcomes.

Yes, I do doubt a lot of my creations, after initially liking them enough to post them. I usually think that someone else would have made a better job. And many of the cards I've posted end up being trimmed down, re-layered, chopped up or just cut down for the spare card. It's a large recycling pile!

They are both very lovely cards. I think you do amazing things with stamps and colours.

P/s: We are definitely our worst critics. But competition with ourselves is what makes us better right?

Your cards are delightful Virginia. I too sometimes look at something and say to myself " what were you thinking!!!" but every card we make is creativity...just some are better than others. I like Shirley's idea to recycle and reuse those "so-so" cards. But saying that... I always get inspiration from ALL your cards. So keep on posting and sharing.

I love your think and feel approaches to the trigger, Virginia. The two cards are both lovely in my opinion. Yes, we ate our own harshest critic. Ideally, that self criticism makes us better. I follow your blog daily because it's always inspirational.

Both are wonderful Virginia! I think my favourite is the first with that awesome stitching and the little touches of dots and whimsy!

I love the two takes! The first one more traditional, the second a little more freestyle collage. I like the first one better I think, I love the liquid pearl drops and the zig zag stitching on that one a lot!

What a great idea to do a "see" and "feel" interpretation! That should be a challenge topic one day. How interesting to see how the cards would be different. Love that you tried both versions. Fantastic results! And yes, I feel the same way that you did 'ALL the time. I get really excited about a project that day, and then by the next day I'm lukewarm about it. Only a select few do I maintain my excitement level on. I'm pretty fickle, I guess : )
