Watercolor and Stencil

Hello! I have been wanting to try playing with watercolors and stencils (yup, both in one card). You may not see the obvious use of stencils here, but if you look carefully, you'll see the small circles in the background....
you're in my thoughts
First I created a colorful background with watercolors and distress inks. After that, I wet the stencil (Heidi Swapp Stencil) with water and let it sit on top of the paper. This proved to be the hardest part...I just had to walk away! After drying, I stamped the design.
I am keeping this post short and sweet :)

Thanks for stopping by!

what a beautiful background. The little dots look fabulous. The gold embossing finishes it perfectly.

It is so cool and I would have trouble waiting for it to dry but the effect is amazing. I need to get my stencils out again. Pretty card, V!

I love that you're not afraid to experiment, Virginia! I think this card turned out beautifully...using the stencil was a great idea, and it adds so much interest to the pretty water colors! Love how those sweet little birds are perched on the foliage, and of course your gold embossing and sequins are perfect! Another stunning card!!!

I LOVE your background! Isn't watercoloring the most addictive technique? And it's very forgiving, too!
