What Is Dr. John Thinking?...and One Stamp, Two Cards!

Time for a segment of "What is Dr. John Thinking?"....

On my recent loss of a follower:
Dr. John: Hey, you lost a follower? (looking at my blog)
Virginia: Oh... who cares....followers come and go, but my husband is here to stay (winking at hm)!
Dr. John: Yup...for now
Virginia: ...!!!

On my recent gain of new followers:
Dr. John: You seem to have lots of new followers these days...
Virginia: Isn't that a good thing?
Dr. John: Just don't lead them off a cliff!

Back to today's cards...I have used the same stamp Floral Tapestry (Penny Black) to create two cards. They look totally different!

Card #1: Distress Inks, water, pattern paper, embossing paste (see bottom part of the card), Heidi Swapp stencil, strings and sequins
you are amazing

Card # 2: Kind Words (Penny Black), alcohol inks, glossy paper, Cup O' Joe (Hero Arts), white embossing powder (Stampendous, detailed)
This "dramatic-looking" card was easy to create! It's quite different, huh? I applied the same approach of my previous You Tube video (see here). I think I will call it "Blind Stamping". Basically, you apply the alcohol inks BEFORE you stamp. A little unpredictability makes it a fun and exciting card to make!

I hope today's post make you smile. If you like this stamp, well, I have a video for you tomorrow! Yes, a video...and I have a speaking part this time :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Fabulous cards Virginia they are simply stunning! And thanks for sharing more of Dr John's wit. here's something from my hubby in exchange: I had artfully (I thought) arranged some dried grasses in a pretty vase for our conservatory. Hubby sees them and asks "why is there a jug of sticks on the shelf?" You gotta love 'em! Have a great weekend, Jo x

Look at you getting so much from your stamps...what did Dr. John have to say about that? So funny. Can't wait to hear your lovely voice and see your hands tomorrow.

Lovely cards! Dr. John is so funny, and congrats on the new DT spot at SSS. A great day for you!

Gorgeous cards, Virginia... with a totally different look, also due to the complements. Please tell me something, using alcohol inks before stamping is only your choice or is there other reason, like an incompatibility between these inks and ink pads? They can't be used with Memento ink pads, like Copics do? Thank you.
Big congratulations on your new assignment at SSS! So happy for you!

First, congratulations on the SSS Weds challenge design team. I am not surprised you made it!! You so deserve this honor!!

Second, I am LOVING how you used the same stamp set and created two different cards that look so different. I just bought some alcohol inks and now have to dig up my glossy paper that I used to have. I am hoping I still kept it!! I LOVE both of your techniques!!
