Watercolor Fun!

There is no doubt that water-coloring is the biggest trend in the world of stamping in 2014.
Virginia's View Challenge's first theme was on watercolor and had the most entries--359!
On line Card Class has one class specifically on (and more to come) water-coloring....
You can sign up for A Very Trendy Holiday here (more water-coloring!!)
You see water-colored cards in card-making blogs every. single. day.

I can see why the trend continues. I am always too impatient to color images with copics and color pencils. But with water-coloring, the result is immediate and full-filling!

Today's card was easy to do. Water-coloring two large poinsettia images is not as hard as it looks!
Have a Holly Jolly Christmas
Supplies: Sparkler (Penny Black), Peerless Watercolors, gold embossing powder, sequins

Here is my humble soup made from the Canadian Thanksgiving leftover turkey. I have more turkey in the freezer and I will share what I do with the rest.
Tip: do not throw the turkey bones (after carving) away. I often scrape off the leftover juice/sauce from the pan of the roasted turkey. Boil and simmer the bones/scraps for at least 2 hours and you've got a yummy soup stock! After sifting, you can put the soup in the fridge for a few hours. Then skim off the fat on top of the soup stock. In this soup, I added some ham for extra flavor. You can omit that, just add root vegetables and you are good to go.

Hope you have a great week ahead! Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful watercoloring! Love this, and the soup looks great too! There's a pretty famous Peking Duck place near our house and whenever we go I ask for the duck bones to give to my mom. She is always very happy about that!

I'm with you on the colouring comment, Virginia! I always think I do a bad job colouring with Copics and/or Watercolor Pencils, so don't even bother sometimes. Your card is stunning, and the colours are so vibrant! I'm a huge fan of making turkey soup from the turkey bones in the days after making a turkey dinner - yum!
