Guest Design over The Card Concept (Part 1)

Hello, friends!

It is my absolute pleasure to share my guest design work with you over The Card Concept.
About The Card Concept
"Each week we offer up a challenge for you to try, and we hope that you will create a card in one of the styles we have offered here.  The team is divided into the different styles and each designer explains how they were inspired by the challenge!  So come and join us and try your hand at a brand new "style" of card making or work in your comfort zone, it is totally up to you!"

The style in March is "Classy and Elegant". I created a card that was inspired by the inspiration photo in the style of Classy and Elegant.

Here is my take:
thinking of you
I decided to create a vase based on the inspiration photo.
First, I cut out a small piece of white card stock in the shape of a vase. I then used Swirls and Dots stencil and white embossing paste to create the textures on the "vase".

For the flowers, I used the smallest stamp from Whimsical Flowers (Altenew). The yellow "branch" is from Simon Says Stamp's "Songbird". When I was young and growing up in Taiwan,  I remember that my mom used to take Ikebana (aka Japanese Flower Arrangement) classes...this card reminded me of her flower arrangement! I remember they are were kind of bare and very Zen-like...

This is the easiest "flower arrangement" that I have ever done :)

Big thanks to my dear friend Tracey M. and The Card Concept team for this lovely invitation!

Definitely "Classy & Elegant). Love the combination of stamping, embossing paste and paper piecing-ish elements. Really lovely and, yes, it is reminiscent of ikebana.
