Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge #363

wed-newchallenge-header

Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge !! Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too :-)

This week the challenge is...

Happy Birthday

We are using Simon Says Stamp products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some, we love to see them used :-)

For my project, I used one of my favorite SSS dies Single Rose Die  to to create a birthday card. I love creating my own watercolor paper, so that was exactly what I did here. The background paper is from Prima Flowers Paintables Watercolor Paper.  This 6x6 paper pad allows you to watercolor however you like with the ready-to-paint embossed images. This is literally your own watercoloring book (see here). After colorng in with Distress Ink, I ran the paper through Cuttlebug with Stitched Rectangles

Happy Birthday (April 6) SSS Wed. Challenge

For the dramatic effect, I added some black ink splatter (instead of spraying)! It was a bit scary to add splatter as it can "ruin" the nearly finished project! I strategically covered up the main images and then splattered away...With the vellum and silver thread, I think it is a success!

Happy Birthday-002

As always, Simon Says Stamp will be giving away not one, not two, not three.....

Another beauty, my friend! I have been dying to know what that background was, and I'm so pleased to find out, as I just ordered another of these Prima pads - can't wait to get mine, now!

Yes a success Virginia!! Prepare to be CASE'd on this one and the fun design however I may not be brave enough to splatter paint on an almost finished card--lol!

I sure do like this card. The colors are lovely, the touch created by using vellum is excellent. I appreciate the "filled in" leafs, unique and the black splatters is the best finishing touch.

Very pretty card. Until I read your post I didn't realize that the embossed background paper actually comes embossed. How cool! Well done.
