Altenew Build-A-Flower Poinsettia

Hello friends!
How exciting it is to feature Altenew's Build-a Flower Poinsettia today!
For the details of this release, please visit Altenew Card Blog here, Scrapbook Blog here.
s

Poinsettias have been known to symbolize purity, good cheer, and success, but they are probably most recognized at Christmastime.  They are native to Central America and Mexico, and flower during the wintertime.  Some people even call them "Flores de Noche Buena," or "Flowers of the Holy Night."  Our gorgeous poinsettia can be stamped in four layers, and is accompanied by winter-themed sentiments.  Build-A-Flower: Poinsettia is sure to become a cherished part of your stamp collection.

Altenew also offers Build-a-Flower Poinsettia and ink Bundle.
This is a win win situation since you get the inks and stamps all in one

I am sharing two cards with this stamp set and die.

It's all about the stamping, right? The layered stamps are super easy to line up as I had no trouble at all. I used the die to die cut a piece of paper and used it as the mask.

A note about the golden polka dots:

I positioned the Tiny Bubbles (shop Altenew here, shop Simon Says Stamp here) in place.
s
I then placed foil paper with the stencil on top and applied foiling with Heat Wave Pen Tool (we R Memory Keepers).  I love the tiny golden bubbles! This Heat Wave Pen Tool is battery-powered and super easy to use. Since I don't own a laminator, Minc machine, this is a great way to add foiling.
s

The foil bubbles provide the visual interest and motion.
These three colors (light yellow/green, pink and red) are the most common poinsettia that that we see.

My 2nd card involves Partial Die-cuting. I made this card about a week ago and just loved how it turned out.

Altenew_BAF_Poinsettia_Virginia#4

I purposely tilt the poinsettia a bit and did the die cutting only with the upper part of the poinsettia.

The white panel you see is all in one panel.

I hope my two cards give you some ideas about this very excellent stamp sets and die.

Oh my Virginia...crazy about that multi-bloom stamped marvel. It's so elegant and colorful. The flowers fairly dance across the card spewing gold dots as they go. Just gorgeous work. And love the clean, festive look of the second with it's kraft background and selective die cutting.

Lovely poinsettias. I envy crafters who do great with layered stamping. I have the eye to appreciate its beauty when it is stamped by other crafters but still unable to appreciate my own layered stamping.-Maria Giselle

Virginia, I just love the two different samples that you came up with. The first with the stamping is just gorgeous with the added gold foil bubbles. I love the touch of gold on that card. Then the second with the partial die cutting, it really gives it that extra dimension. Love them both!!!

Both cards today are very inspiring. Love how you colored the three poinsettias in the three colors. The gold spots add joy to the card. And I want to try the partial die cut - a great look

The foil highlights with the stencil are my favorite part of the first card. A yellow poinsettia flower is ingenious. I like the layout, too, of the second card.

Virginia, your cards are beautiful! I love the foil dots you added to the first card. Those three poinsettias are so gorgeous in the three most popular colors. My grandparents always had a poinsettia plant at Christmas and both of your cards remind me of them. I can see the plant sitting on the fireplace or next to the tv stand. It's a precious memory now that they are both gone. Thank you so much for sharing both of these cards.

The card is very pretty, but why did you make the flower white/cream? Vert few plants like that are that color!
