Hello friends!
I finally got myself some Hot Off the Press Acetate Sheets.
This stuff is hot hot hot...they are just back in stock over Simon Says Stamp.
If you are not familiar with this product, they look much like the acetate from the stamp packaging....

EXCEPT
they are heat -resistant.
Earlier this year, I tried to heat emboss the butterfly on acetate sheet (from packaging) and burned a few sheets during the process. I did manage to create one without burning, but the acetate was thin and slightly warped. Not gonna happen any more! 😁
This time, I am using Snowburst for the heat-embossing.
Since this is my first time using this acetate, a few small specks fell on the unwanted spot. I think if I use it on dark color stock it may not be the best idea. So, I reached out for the Doodlebug pattern paper and I actually loved how it turned out.
I am going to experiment more with this transparency. Isn't the look cool?
Thanks for stopping by!
Edited: did you see that Simon Says Stamp has this NEW Frozen Fractals set that is part of the January 2017 Monthly Card Kit? It will work with the same acetate sheet shown in this post....
just saying. I am quite impressed with the monthly kit that comes with the Lawn Fawn Shammy Cleaning Cloth (valued at $7.99)!

WOW Virginia. It looks very pretty and the acetate sounds perfect.
So beautiful Virginia!
Another amazing masterpiece Virginia! Very pretty!
Love how the acetate gives a different "shine" to holiday cards! Your card is so beautiful, Virginia, that I should definitely try this technique more often.
I LOVE how this turned out, Virginia! I am definitely going to give this a try...gorgeous card!
This is so beautiful Virginia! I bought some of this heat resistant acetate over a year ago at a local sewing store. I bought it for this and I wanted to make another "door" for my MISTI that wouldn't warp if heated. I taped a piece to fit inside my MISTI so I could use it for a window to pre-stamp my images to make sure they were straight. (I taped it to the opposite side of the actual door, beside the ruled edge. Now it doesn't get lost on my desk.
Beautiful card, love the snowflakes with the pattern paper behind the acetate!
This is a cool product. Your choice of paper is wonderful as your snowflakes float. Very nice.
What a beautiful effect of the snowflakes over the patterned paper!!
I love this card! How is the acetate adhered? I want to make one!
This is just gorgeous! I LOVE how the white snowflakes look over the patterned paper.
