Hello friends!
You know that sometimes you just have the urge to create as soon as you receive the stamps or dies...or any goodies in the mail! Well, I just got this die yesterday and went straight to work!
This very die from the latest release "Hey Love" is perfect for making clean and simple cards.
To me, this die features really gorgeous floral design, I simply wanted to use Inlaid Die Cutting to showcase the flowers. For the colorful pieces, I had previously created my own watercolor paper with assorted Distress Inks and Sprays.
I can't say enough about using Sprays and Mist. These inks provide such an organic feel with an instant result! The hardest part is waiting for it to dry. I usually do this before going to bed. Once you wake up in the morning, your DIY color paper is ready for you! Of course, you can always use your heat gun, too.
I made two pieces of die cut with my DIY paper and put the pieces back to the die like a puzzle. I even added a small flower near the sentiment. This is such a FEEL GOOD card. 💓 We can never have too many of these types of cards, right?
I am slowing down to create (just a tad) these days to spend time with my family. I hope you are enjoying the precious moment with your love ones during the Christmas season.

This card makes me so happy I keep returning to your post! :) The bright colors , texture, and design brings a smile every time. I am impressed with the watercolored papers you are making and would love to see some pictures of the sheet of paper before you cut them. Do you mostly keep the colors separate from each other except for where they meet? How many layers of color?

Elaine: I didn't save the watercolor paper pieces. However, when I pieced the paper back together, I selected the piece that blend nicely in color. It's hard to control the sprays and I always spray on a large sheet of watercolor paper (in this case, I used Bristol paper). It allows you to pick the colors that turned out. PS: I do get some brown spots and that's what you want to avoid. Hope this helps. I will keep this in mind and share the photos of process when the chance arises next time.
