You Are My Cup of Tea

Hello friends! It's high time to have some tea ....

Today I am sharing a fun project with you about this Vintage Tea set from Altenew.
The moment that I saw this stamp set, I knew exactly what I want to make....

you are my cup of tea

A one layer card with embossing details!

You see, I was inspired by the Wedgwood China. They are our wedding gift from my dear brother-in-law! Over the years, we have used the tea set so much and yet they remain to be timeless and classy!

my cup of tea

Even though it is one layer, there were some planning involved when making this card.
1. masking (cutting out the image for cup and saucer)
2. gold-embossing in two stages (saucer and the cup with masking paper)
3 color the images with the new Altenew Artist Markers (Set A).
4 Add shine and touches with Nuvo Droplets and Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor (6).

It may seem tedious to do multiple steps for this one layer. But the depth and shine truly makes this one layer a stand-out. Plus, it is mail-friendly! I didn't even feel the need to add sequins!

I hope this post inspires you to create a one layer...
One layer cards are not all about coloring, a little embossing goes a long way, too!
Thanks for stopping by!

My what a lovely tea cup. I think one layer cards are the best. I appreciate every post of yours because you explain very well your process and that helps a lot.

OUTSTANDING...love the use of the little floral stamp to surround your teacup. And the color with the embossing is amazing. Looks so beautiful in the photo...and your china matched the cups shape. Wow!

Fabulous card, Virginia! All those steps are totally worth it when you end up with a card looking like that! Your China is beautiful as well. China is not really my thing, but I sure do like yours! Definitely timeless.
