Simon Says Stamp July Monthly Card Kit and My Taiwan Trip

Hello friends!
Forget about jet lag (from Taiwan, to Japan, then back to Canada)...
It took 28 hours to complete the trip yesterday.
Then..... I created this post this morning.
Since I have been traveling so much lately, it's hard to squeeze in crafting time. I just got back from my 18-day trip to Taiwan. It was fun, amazing, yummy and very very hot! I am now happy to be home and am busy preparing for the next adventure!
This July Monthly Kit arrived while I was a way.
If you like the various theme and surprises, it is a good idea to subscribe (see here).
That way, you will not miss out on getting each kit because they do sell out quickly.

The July kit really brings out the summer! It has colors, theme and it is also hot hot hot.
Today's card is a CAS one. I absolutely love the pattern paper that comes in the kit, so I did some inlaid die-cutting and it was easy and effective!
time to relax

There is just something about plaid that makes you happy!
time to relax

Noticed that I trimmed off the stamped borders (see below)?
Little details seem to make a big difference. I made this card 6 o'clock this morning! I was itching to get back to crafting as I have not touched my supplies for over 20 days!!😆

time to relax

Here are a few fun photos from my Mother and Son trip to Taiwan.
(that's ME in the silhouette in Kaohsiung harbor!!)

This trips involves a lot of....
(from Taipei, Hua-lien/Toroko Gorge, Taichung/Sun-Moon Lake, Alishan and the most southern part- Kenting)
visiting relatives ( seen here are my sister,brother-in-law, niece Erica and my mom is the one on the bottom right in plaid dress!!)

selfies, (my beloved sister and niece Erica accompanied us to Alishan Nationalk Scenic Area)
silly photos ( spent too much time on the trains)

and feasting/drinking (lots of bubble tea and Taiwan Beer for David!)
A ginormous thanks to my sister, brother-in-law and niece Erica for hosting. There are simply too many highlights and fun things to mention. This is certainly a trip to remember! I am so glad to have this chance with David to "find my roots" and discover more about my home country.

I have a few more cards with this kit and will share them in the next few days.
You can find all the latest from Simon Says Stamp here.

First off, your card is perfect, especially since you made it after all that traveling and the loooooong time it took you to get home.
Obviously, you were inspired to make a plaid bikini by your Mother's lovely dress. You and David certainly look like you had a terrific time. It's always wonderful to get back to your home and touch your roots again. Welcome home and thanks for the beautiful travelogue.
