Hello friends!
I set out to create a card with this gorgeous die....
Penny Black FLORAL ARRANGEMENT Thin Metal Creative Dies
from: Simon Says Stamp
I decided that I want to keep things light and fresh. Winter is just too darn long....
We need GREENS and FLOWERS in our lives!
I started out with cutting and coloring this die before bed time....

Haha, it works like magic the next day when you wake up.
Pre-planning the layout and design is almost always a good idea.
So, I created a matching background with the die.
I made this card to beat the winter blah.
I think I have succeeded it because looking at this card makes me happy!

For once, I am not going to explain what techniques I used.

I see some pretty water coloring of the flowers & leaves. This is really gorgeous, Virginia.
Virginia, your card is beautiful. It makes me happy, too! I think you dry embossed the die into the background. It really is a stunning effect and shows off the water colored die cut.
So beautiful!!
Hi Virginia, Yes this is BEAUTIFUL and makes me happy!!
I want to guess something different than what is posted so I am going to guess that you used your blending tool and with your Oxide inks created that pretty green background on your card as your base. Thanks, again just so pretty.
It appears that you embossed the die onto the card background, Virginia. The flowers are water colored. The effect is stunning!
Such a pretty Spring card which can drive away the Winter blahs! One of the techniques you used is embossing with a die using the a tan embossing mat which presses the image into the paper but does not allow the die to cut through the paper. Love your cards Virginia!
SO pretty... your water colored floral swag is gorgeous. And I love how you completed the wreath look with dry embossing using the same die (the secret technique)! Thanks so much for sharing this technique. I'm going to look and see what dies I have that I can use this with.
Oooh, how elegant is this, Virginia. You dry embossed with the dies and distressed around it. So beautiful.
GASP! You've done it again...everything about this card screams SPRING! It is so beautifully constructed and colored. I do believe that the dry embossing on the card base adds an exquisite touch to finish off, what looks to me like a wreath. LOVE the soft blending around it. And those colored flowers appear to be watercolored. This one is just plain fabulous, Virginia.
What a gorgeous card!
You water colored the gorgeous flowers, and dry embossed right above them.
Thank you for the chance to win.
WOW! So pretty. What stands out to be is the dry embossing on the background. Just love how you did that to match the die you coloured. Love the technique and I really need to do more dry embossing with my dies. I just need a little bit of your talent to go with it. lol
One of my faves, Virginia, dry embossing with a die!!??
=]
Even I recognized the dry embossing with the pretty flower die :) Gorgeous card as always.
A stunning card! A real treat for everyone' winter weariness.
I'm game 'how did Virginia make this lovely': You die cut then painted the flowers and leafs, then you used your embossing pad and 'cut the die' again re positioning the die. Then because the flowers were dry, you used foam to give your colored flower spray height. You stamped the lovely butterfly and using a lovely green-softly painted around the embossed die and voila your creations was finished.
Fab background, Virginia! Just love how you embossed the die into it!!
Virginia, I think you no line watercolored your card. It’s pretty!
I think you turned your die in the opposite direction from the watercolored panel and dry-embossed with the die to accomplish that beautiful background for your card.
virginia, this composition is STUNNING! love it!
Very pretty card. You used the die to emboss the background.
This is light and fresh and gorgeous! And a wonderful idea to emboss the background with the floral die. I love it!
Your card is quiet an eye pleasing beauty in coloring and design! I see watercoloring and dry embossing techniques!
So pretty Virginia. The embossed background the die cut on top is an awesome idea

What a beautiful card and awesome technique, I have to try dry embossing using dies someday soon, thanks for the inspiration!
Lovely card, and the dry embossed background just sets everything else off so beautifully!
Thanks for bringing spring back to our eyes! I love the dry embossing technique and the water coloring around it!
Love this card! My favorite part is the gorgeous dry embossing you did with the dies. Such a fun trick to get more use out of our dies---and really pretty results with this one!
Super GORGEOUS card, Virginia! I love how you dry embossed with the die...it's so striking, and I love how it adds to the elegance of your design!
