Lifting That Alcohol Ink (Inky Session #1)

Hello friends!
I have a fun project to share with you today!

Today's card was the result of my Inky Session!
I love it when I let loose in my craft room and play with inks! Do you!?
Come to think of it, I really love the name "Inky Session"!
While writing this very post, I decided that I should start a new segment called Inky session? Thoughts? You likey?
The other day I was in the mood to play with some alcohol ink...
I created the inky background with the following cling stamp from Penny Black.

Without further ado, brace yourself with my very bright Christmas card!

Like almost all alcohol-inked cards, you start with a very inky background.
I made sure that the colors are layered and very saturated.
Merry Christmas
In order to show the Alcohol Lift Ink Effect, you want to be sure that the background is fully colored and has lot of inks!

When I first created this alcohol ink paper, I almost want to toss it. The colors are dark and overly saturated.....but I persisted. The Yupo paper is too expensive to be wasted (LOL).

I applied Alcohol Lift Ink several times till the images is nearly all lifted! while the ink was still wet, I applied Nuvo Radiant Gold-Gilding Flake over it.

( Sorry for the bright background. It is my backyard leaf color....)

The imprint and gold  left such a great impression and contrast.
I think I found my inky happiness!
Hope you are ready for another "Virginia's Inky Session"!

Awesome effect! I bought one of the ink lift pads but haven't had a chance to try it yet!

Wow! Glad you persisted as the effect is stunning! Adding the gold foiling flakes took it to the next le el.

I think 'inky session' is a great idea. Your card is very bold, yet, quite lovely. The addition of the gold flakes makes this card special and tones down the red.

Another technique with amazing results to add to my long to-do list. Really impactful and beautiful. Love that you've framed it and those beautiful hints of gold.

I think Virginia's Inky Session is a cool idea & a cool name for it as well. I do like playing with inks, but as yet I don't have any alcohol inks, although I absolutely LOVE the look of them. Your card looks like a small piece of art you could frame & hang on a wall. Honestly, in the pictures it's gorgeous.

This is so pretty and alcohol inks are so much fun. Even when you mess up and get too much ink, wrong colors or whatever, the Yupo paper is so forgiving! You can rework the whole background or turn it over and use the back. I love the effect you created with this card with the red and gold!

My comment should say Virginia, not Vir Virgi . My phone has it's own words!
