Your card design is delightful, Virginia! Love the stenciled background and your use of the new alcohol markers. I use a lot of different media for my cards and love each one of them for various reasons. Have a great day!

Beautiful card! My favorite coloring medium changes every month or so :-) I'll go crazy with colored pencils for awhile, then get tired of using them or want to show my other products some love. Then I switch to alcohol markers or Zigs or Tombows. I just came off a Tombow run and I'm on colored pencils now. I like spending so much time with one medium as I think it helps build my skill level with them rather than hopping back and forth with every project.

Beautiful flowers & you've reminded me to use my stencils for floral card backgrounds, Virginia! I don't do much coloring, but when I do it's usually my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers done in a messy style. Maybe this year I'll finally practice using my COPICs for more than coloring gems & pearls--haha!

Karen P. said...

I love the look of the Sunburst stencil for the background. The colours of the new markers really pop against the white and gold. Beautiful card!

Kelsey Thomas said...

This is beautiful!

Nox said...

So beautiful! I love the stenciled colour and pattern behind the florals - a lovely contrast. I have to admit it is hard to choose what medium I love the most. I do enjoy inking a lot, but have learned to really love watercolours - either paint/pencils, or markers to applying more direct colour. I love this new release palette!

conil said...

These Engraved Flowers are gorgeous especially in that fantastic color...so pretty and elegant. Of course, it doesn't hurt that you're a master colorist. My favorite color medium is inkpads. I can prove that because I have millions of them.

Mitzi said...

Lovely card! The use of the stencil was a good way to draw the eye into the card.

Sue D said...

TFS your beautiful card. The Artist Markers look awesome; love the new colors!! I usually reach for my Zig Real Brush markers. I have a much easier time with water-base markers than alcohol. I need to experiment more with the latter.

Linda Anderson said...

Love your card! I use different coloring mediums but I think the one I use most is alcohol markers because they blend well on all my little critter and flower cards. TFS.

Love your beautiful card, Virginia! The coloring and shading is so beautiful and I love the stenciled background! Thank you for sharing your awesome creativity with us!

Teri S. said...

Virginia, your card is beautiful. The colour blending is seamless. I just love the way you have the stencil in the background fanning out from the flowers. At this time, pencil crayons are my favourite way of colouring as I find them a bit forgiving for me as I am not the best colourer by any means & I'm just trying to learn shading techniques. Truthfully, alcohol inks intimidate me big time. :(

I have some of the Artist Markers from Altenew and I love using them. I bought several other sets from other companies but didn't have the success coloring the way I do with the Altenew markers. Your card is gorgeous. I love how you stenciled a portion of the background and placed your flowers near it. I want to thank you for sharing your time and talent with us.

Your card is so very pretty and anything but simple! I love the depth the warm brown tones you got by using the Sunburst stencil. The pinks used in the flowers complement the warm browns. They are being referred to as purples. ( on others blogs) but they look pink to me! I have been waiting for the colors they have used in set D as they are some of my favorites.

Yasmine Omar said...

I love the stamp set you used to showcase these markers. Your coloring and blending is fabulous. I am so glad they made these markers in three Color families so it is so easy to blend. My favorite medium is probably copics but I love watercolors too. It varies on the project.

Lovely card design! There's some really pretty colors in this new set, and I'd love to give alcohol markers a try. Currently I work with colored pencils.

Mclay said...

You always make such stunning cards, Virginia! These new colors in the markers are gorgeous!

Sheila said...

Your work is fantastic. The direction of the stenciled pattern matches the direction that the flower is pointing. Thus there is a natural flow of the eye. Super! Love the colors and that the stenciled background is light enough to be seen, but doesn't take over the card..

Annalisa said...

I think my favorite coloring medium is watercolor, but I think the one I'm best at is colored pencils. I love this card; the engraved blooms are always stunning, and they look especially nice with the stencil you chose. Thanks for sharing with us!
