Repeated Stamping and Masking

Hello friends!

I am sharing a card with the good old-fashioned stamping techniques.
What intrigued me years ago to stamping? It was the ability to use one single stamp to create a scenery with repeated stamping and masking.

I started out with stamping the tree on the left with Distress Oxide.

Then I stamped the one on the right. With the help of MISTI, you can stamp repeatedly with various colors. I always start with the lighter color and gradually work up the darker shades.

The next part is just slightly tricky.... stamping the middle tree required some masking.
Namely, I covered both trees with two pieces of scrap paper.

Although it does the trick, it was still left with a very defined straight lines with the masking.
I then removed the scrap paper and carefully stamped over the two trees.
This gave the trees a more true and realistic image.

Don't you just love creating a wooded scene with just one stamp?
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Simple stamping does NOT look simple at all when you do it as evidenced by this lovely grove you created. It's gorgeous and that sentiment is a line from my favorite Christmas carol.
