I am popping in with a easy and fun project with a stencil.
Simon Says Stamp kindly sent me a new stencil "Peony Bouquet Stencil" from their "Hey Besties" Release. This stencil is super popular, so grab it fast while supplies last!
This stencil has large opening with multiple peonies. It is perfect for doing Emboss Resist.

Ranger Embossing It Dabber (limited quantities)
The Ranger Embossing It Dabber makes is easy to try out this techniques. This dabber is also great for doing partial embossing. It is a cross between your regular embossing pen and embossing pad.
If you love embossing, this is one easy and inexpensive item to get!
Step 1: ink-blending--->I taped down the stencil with Washi and then applied Distress Oxide to each peony. DISCLAIMER: I must admit that I did this before bed time..... so, my craftsmanship for the ink-blending was not at its best!
Step 2: applying Emboss It Dabber---> The name says it all. I then dabbed the embossing ink over the inky area. This SEALS the color. This is when I poured the clear-embossing powder over and embossed it. If you look closely, you can see the clear-embossing over the floral images.

Step 3: apply ink all over the embossed image ----> I also used a little bit of watercolor brush pen and rubbed the colors over it. edited: I used just the regular card stock (110lbs)
This card is going to be for my hubby....LOL. I think this is his type of humorous sentiment.
We often poke fun at each other. The sentiment is quite fitting.

Great sentiment and card! Thanks for listing the steps in your resist method. Did you use your regular card stock or some type of special card stock?
I LOVE this, Virginia! I had not seen the dauber before so just went and put it into my cart!!
Stunning Virginia. Using a dauber is a cool idea.
I love that soft look!
Fabulous card and sentiment! I like
the neat trick with the dauber!
Lovely card and your explanation is great.
I will have to try embossing after stenciling. So you need a long drying ink so the powder sticks, but it's certainly a fantastic result and way to use materials. Fantastic idea.
Don't understand your comment about the craftsmanship on this card...it looks amazing to me. Such beautiful colors your chose to use...just a gorgeous card.
Colorful and so pretty!! :)
Beautiful card, fun sentiment and thanks for telling me about the embossing dabber.
Gorgeous colors and a beautiful stencil design!
