Hello friends!
I am popping in with a card that I made yesterday.
This time, I took out Simon Says Stamp Peony Bouquet Stencil and did some watercoloring.
Here is the result.
With practice, I think I will get better at watercoloring. With the stencil firmly in place, I was able to make the peony look defined and colorful.

This is a very enjoyable exercise. I strongly encourage you to get your stencils out and try watercoloring. The key is the control of water.

With too much water, you run the risk of muddling the entire image.
You can see my images do not not entirely have the same saturation. That is something I need to work on. However, this is the first try with a stencil (that has large opening space). I find the result is somewhat encouraging and will try soon again.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Very pretty. I like the colors.
You make it look so easy and it is so GORGEOUS!!
Fabulous Virginia. Did you tack the stencil with some repositionable adhesive on the back?
Hi Dawn, I didn't use any tacky glue for the stencil backing. I only used Washi Tape. The trick is to use water sparingly... if that helps. :)
Glad for the more detailed steps. Also thought that adhesive was needed to attach to paper. This encourages me to try.
Oooo I love how some are crisp and some are more blurry.... great colors!
Oh wow! This is so beautiful!!
Beautiful card!
It turned out so beautifully!! You encouraged me to try too. :)
Just gorgeous!!
Love your peonies! I love the watercolor effect you have gotten. That is the prettiest stencil! I use washi tape to hold down stencils. I bought the adhesive spray but do not like the fact that the adhesive is there permanently on the stencil, so have not used it. Looking for another way to use that adhesive.
So beautiful and I love the colors.
Beautiful and painterly look. This technique scares the pants off of me...it looks so hard to control and I'm nothing, if not, a control freak. But I love the feel and freedom of this look.
That is beautiful! I had never thought of using watercolors and stencils to make a card but this is one technique I really want to try. What a pretty end result! Pinned.
