One Good TRICK to Detailed Die-cutting ( DIE-cember Release)

Hello December!

The yearly event "DIE-cember"from Simon Says Stamp is here.I am thrilled to have one of the dies to showcase this release. To save time, I have listed the products at the end of this post.

Detailed Rose Die (SSS)

This "Detailed Rose" is rather large and can be used in many creative ways. I love the outlines and decided to piece two paper together. The die set comes with two leaf shapes (outline and solid).

For the rose petals, I used my own DIY watercolor paper and for the outline, I used gold foil paper. Notice that I also added dry-embossing? Yes, that's another TRICK to add textures and details with the die

Detailed Rose Die

One good trick about using dies like this is to use a piece of used Fabric Softener/dryer sheet. When die-cutting, you layer the dryer sheet at the very bottom, then the paper and then the die (facing down) and add your sandwich pieces as you normally would.

your kindness is appreciated

The dryer sheet will catch/hold all the small pieces and leave them in tact. You can then easily retrieve all the bits back with the help of Washi Tape and remove the unwanted pieces. Before you piece everything together, be sure you have a piece of Washi Tape (on the back ) that will adhere all the pieces. I also added a piece of card stock to keep the entire piece strong.

That's it. I share what I know and this is how I do it. There may be other ways of approaching this type of dies, but this works for me. The sentiment is from one of the older set "Kind Flowers" ( no longer available) from Simon Says Stamp.

I will be back later today with Altenew Build-a-Flower post. Thank you!
