Feature products #1: Classic Pinecones Slim 3D Embossing Folder
I know that slimline cards are not for everyone. However, if you want to create quick holiday business card size, this is a GREAT one! Not only you can create cards with sophisticated dry-embossed patterns, you can even use it for regular card stock. ๐กThis folder is NOT strictly for slim cards only.

I LOVE to add colors to the dry-embossed images. This one is so easy to do as the pine needle and pine cones are easy to distinguish. You can apply inks directly to the folder and then run it through the die-cut machine. You will have these gorgeous images with great depths.
I stamped the sentiment from Dry Brush Poinsettia Stamp set--love that set!
For my 2nd card, I did something that I have never done before.....
That is, incorporate embossing into the dry-embossed images!
Here's how I did it----๐ก๐ I simply swiped and dabbed the embossing ink to the folder and then quickly run it through the die cut machine. Then, pour the Antique Gold Embossing Powder over and heat set it..... you then see the magic happening in front of your eyes!
I paired the Poured Acrylic Paper Pad with the versatile All About Thanks Die and it worked beautifully with the dry-embossed gold background.

This card requires little instructions.... ๐ก die cut a circle, ink and dry-emboss! Isn't it cool?
The best thing is that you can use ANY colors you like and they will all look GREAT!
Not gonna lie--> This card took some time to create. However, the result is so satisfying!
As you can see, I colored all of the surface of this embossing folder.
๐ก๐ก These are TWO sides: The bumpy embossed side (the heart and Christmas tree) and the smooth side (yellow background).
There is no order which side you do first, but I did the background first and then the tree and heart.
After inking and detailing, I gold-embossed the sentiment on vellum and adhered to the backside of the card.

Now you might want me to do a video with all these inking process. BUT I highly suggest that you simply play with them and give them a try. You will be amazed how much you learn simply by playing and experimenting. Feel free to book mark this post for your future reference.

Very impressive! Love your cards. Thanks for explaining your techniques.
Love those pine cones your cards are pretty
I should try the technique of inking the embossing folders, either with colored ink or embossing ink. I did paint over an embossed panel before. Thanks for sharing your ideas! Congratulations on another Altenew release!
Love them all! My favorite is the pinecone one though!
These are gorgeous! I LOVE the pinecone!
All are so wonderful and well designed. Thanks for the inspiration!
So many gorgeous designs! Is the slimline a tag? If yes, very clever!

Your cards are so inspiring Virginia. I love the pine cones folder so much - your sample is stunning. You've given me lots of ideas and some of these folders will certainly be coming my way I'm sure.

I’m in love with the pine cone folder!! Will you be explaining how you made this card in more detail?
Great. Cards. The pine cone slimline card is my favorite! The colors came out perfectly. The gold heat embossing on the next card is a lovely touch as are the letters in the patterned paper!
Beautiful cards! I never thought to color the image on both the embossed and debossed sides. Thank you so much for this idea. It makes a unique and beautiful image!
Wonderful cards. I love the coloring technique -- applying ink to the embossing folder is genius!

All your creations are gorgeous. That thanks card is nust amazing. Thank you for the inspiration.
Gorgeous cards Virginia!! All so beautiful, but my favourite is the second where you heat embossed with the embossing folder! Thanks for the great inspiration!! Stay safe! :0
Wow! Fantastic cards! I love the gold embossing you did on the Thanks card! Great idea!
My favorite is the circle "Best Wishes" I like that line of embossing folder- they have happy birthday too.
Pretty cards. My favorite is the pine cone card. I live in the Pacific NW where we have lots of big fir and pine trees, so this card would be great all year, especially for masculine cards. Great idea to get the slimline folder and use it for smaller or slimline cards.
It's amazing how different the creations are with the same folder!
Lovely cards! Thanks for sharing.
such wonderful cards
