Hello friends!
Playing with flower dies never gets old... today's card made my mind blown! I didn't think I would make it look like anything special. Well, I think I was truly impressed with the dies....and myself(!!).
Hollyhock Etched Dies from the Through the Garden Gate Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn
It was certainly a labor of love if you like to create with floral dies. I decided to keep the color pellet of the petals soft and pink.
I was somewhat skeptical whether I needed to use specialty paper. But no, I used the regular 110lb card stock and they worked just fine.
After die-cutting the pieces, I inked up the petals with Distress Oxide. For the leaves, I have some Distress Oxide Sprayed paper and die cut them and created the "leaves".
You may noticed a few droplets of red in the middle of the petals. I thought that they added some nice details and touches.
I got the design paper from this month's Card Kit and layered two pieces and they work beautifully with the Hollyhocks.
Thanks for stopping by!

The hollyhocks are lovely! The colors you used for the petals and leaves add to the loveliness of the card. The single leaf is such a nice touch and adds balance to your design.
gorgeous card Virginia. Those flowers are simply fabulous.
The die set is quite simple! It's what you do with it
that counts! Your card is gorgeous!
Love this card! Just beautiful! Gorgeous flowers and colors!
Nice design share. I like added splatter for the centers, very nice touch.
Pretty distress oxide colors for hollyhock petals with additional red droplets. The background paper design really pops the flowers.
Absolutely perfect hollyhock colors and you've picked wonderful patterned papers to work with the floral.
Pretty colors and I Like the dimension.
