Vintage Cards with a Modern Twist

 Hello friends!

I have another project share from Spellbinders Happy Thoughts Miscellany Printed Cuts. This is part of the Flea Market Finds Collection by Cathe Holden.

Happy Thought Miscellany Printed Die Cuts is part of the Flea Market Finds Collection by Cathe Holden. This set of 39 die cut shapes include flower seed packets, old envelopes, bank checks, and more. These elements would be fun to add in any projects!

Flea Market Finds is Cathe Holden’s debut collection with Spellbinders. She utilizes her vast compilation of vintage treasures to help create collage, junk journaling, cardmaking and more for makers. Combine these wonderful stamps, papers, stickers, stencils, and shapes in this assortment to assemble delightful, vintage-inspired projects.

Special -001

I don't know if the vintage cards are still all the rage. However, I must confess that I am not a fan of the old-time images like this or this. In fact, I think they make me shudder...! LOL.

Therefore, I am pretty picky when it comes to vintage. I chose a few products from Spellbinders and work my way with it. I used one of the decorattive flourish to stamp over the iamge. I also added Mini Bow Die to the bouquet.

The sentiment was stamped over the Label stickers and then adhered to the card front. Here are my 2 cards from the same collection. I really enjoy making these cards and find them perfect to make a card set. If you enjoy playing with paper embellishments, these are to be considered.

Inquisitive minds want to know.....are you a vintage style fan? Do you like TH Ephemera like this? I understand that everyone has different preference and taste. I think I can do floral and that is as far as it goes. (No paper dolls for me).

Thanks for stopping by!

Nice project share showing vintage flair. I'm not much of a fan of the old pictures either, but do enjoy some of the projects using them.

Love the vintage images!

I like some vintage ephemera, but not all of it. Some of the black and white things are a bit strange and melancholic. You picked middle of the road things which are more appealing.

Lovely cards Virginia. Like you I'm not into the TH vintage ephemera. But this Spellbinders lot looks like it would suit me. Nice vintage look without the grungy look.

Fun cards!

The last link wasn't too bad, but the first two were not of my liking. Too gloomy and cluttered. I do like your cards, brighter and cheerful.

Pretty card! I love the bow on the bouquet!
I like some of the vintage style items, but I'm really selective about what I'd actually use. Most of the items you linked to, I am not a fan of. I do love a lot of the TH dies though!
