Hello friends!
Hope you are doing well. I can't believe it's nearly the last day of January!
This year is 1/12 over! Let's make good use of the rest of this year... without further ado, let's talk about today's project. I am using Spellbinders Zinnia Etched Dies as an example.
First of all, let me just say that I did not use the dies as intended. However, I love what I created something unique. I also love how my interpretation still looks OK without copying exactly what the dies are for. I need more time to play with this die and follow exactly how it is intended. We shall se if that time would come....
Let's talk about adding depth and color contrast to the flower petals and leaves. You can simply ink-blend (using ink pads) to create various shades and depth of colors.
I also used watercolor brush markers or Watercolor to add darker shade and colors. Alcohol markers (such as Copics) are also great for adding colors and shades.
I did some Partial Dry-embossing with this month's embossing folder. If you see closely, I also added a piece of vellum to create more interest. Thanks for stopping by!

Just gorgeous Virginia. A great card.
Oooo I LOVE the colors! Gorgeous flowers!
Your zinnias are perfect, V! They're a flower I've discovered only in my "advanced" age, and have fallen in love with their bright colors! Putting this one on my wishlist!
Lovely flowers. I like the embossing folder too.
I think your card is beautiful. I don't know what was intended but I am very inspired by what you created.
I love those flowers! Gorgeous colors too!
Gorgeous card! Love the flowers!
Am curious to see what the flowers
Are supposed to like!🥰🥰🥰
Really pretty cards. I love zinnias and plant them in two pots right near our front porch each spring. They are so hardy and flowers last for days.
They are gorgeous!
Love these gorgeous flowers!
