 I am back with another stencilled design featuring Hero Studio Layering Stencils of the Month Subscription.

The title of this post says it all. It's your stencil and you can stencil however you like. I chose to stencil in two colors of hydrangea. It is easier to stencil when you group them in colors.

 Also, you can add multiple sentiments like this card here. As you can see, the 3 sentiments do not conflict with each other and add that special extra thoughts into the design. Why not? 

Last note about the embellishments....

Take a look at your stash, take out the drops of glitter glue and add that special shine.

Make Stenciled Image POP

A stencilled card doesn't have to be flat... 

 This stencil set is from Hero Studio Layering Stencils of the Month Subscription.

Today's post will perhaps make your stencilled design rethink how you'd approach them. 

These monthly stencils are all designed to fit with the anchored square corners. To make it super easy to line up, you can place each stencil within a stamping platform like MISTI. I even use a pencil to mark the corners for the alignment. It worked!

 

I followed the order of the stencil (numbered on the stencil). Once I inked it up, I then CUT the images out like a large die cut. If you have a coordinating die, this is the time to use it. Since there is none and also the size is rather big. 

 As you can see, the cut out image really pop over the coloured card-stock. That was my point of this post--make the stencilled image POP. 

 Of course, let's not forget the details of these Hydrangea. Time to get those droplets to work. You can use products like this or this to add that pop of shine and dimensions. 

You see, stencilled image doesn't have to be white and blah....what do you think?

The Alluring Torn Edges

 Hello friends!

I am popping in to share a summer beach project. Over the years, I made at least over a thousand cards (I know, no kidding). One "technique" (or element) that I don't get tired of is "paper-tearing", also know as "torn paper".   

 

I am using this month's Hero Arts Stamp and Die Subscription as the example. With the beach theme, the torn edges certainly evoke the memories the waves!   

 

 For the sea shells pieces, I used my favourite stamping platform MISTI to stamp the various shades and colours. With the size and the design of the hinge, I am most used to MISTI. 

Obviously, the stamped diecut images are the focal point. However, the background torn paper provides a dramatic and effective backdrop.

 

 

The teal color paper I used here is from Scrapbook. com. HERE and HERE are the latest colors. The best way of using Torn Paper is using the right kind of paper. Namely, the cardstock should be at least 80 LB. That way, you can show the textures of the paper.

Use The TEXT Stamp Effectively!

Hello friends! 

Hope June is treating well. I am loving the warm weather and enjoy seeing the garden flowers in bloom. I am popping in to share a TEXT design.

This Stamp and Die Set is also part of the June Whole Studio Subscription.

For this design, I find that it is quite effective to use a simple color scheme. This way, your eyes will not find the text too busy. 

For stamping, I used Distress Oxide (Antique Linen, Ripe Persimmon and Abandoned Coral).

I die cut the sentiments and used them as focal point. The added dimensions are quite simple and effective. 

 

If you have large sentiment, you may give this look a try. Repeated Stamping for the background is actually rather fun and therapeutic.
