A Card Analysis

Hello friends!

I have a very simple and yet interesting project to share. I thought I would make an analysis of this project. 

  By seeing the techniques mentioned and described, you may get some inspiration.

 Also, this may help you jump start your creativity if you are stumped for ideas to try as of late.

1. Ink to paper: if you are not in the mood to color or are lacking coloring medium, you can simply create your own color paper. By swipe the ink pad onto paper, you can create your own. I like to stamp the image AFTER inking. 

2. Three's company: odd numbers are visually appealing. I created three butterflies and arranged them as the focal point.

3. Add textures with Embossing Folder: textured background is easy to achieve. If you want to add a simple pattern, look through your stash and you can easily add that textures.

4. Movement: do not forget to add "movement". Obviously, there is no movement in card design unless it is interactive. Since this card has no interactive movement, we can add the illusion of movement. By adding splatter and metallic twines, you can FEEL the movement.

5. Add that Sparkle: Do not forget your embellishments. I love adding bits of glitter paper. Not only it adds sparkle, it also elevates/highlights the sentiment. Check out the sample card I made HERE, you will notice that I used the tiniest bit of glitter paper. It is so effective!

Sweet Honeysuckle Stencil

I hope that you are off  to a great start on this Memorial Monday. Previously, I had shared this Sweet Honeysuckles 3D Embossing Folder.

 As you can see, the coordinating stencil made the coloring and ink-blending task rather easy. Please know that you do not absolutely need coordinating stencil. You can create your own stencil by fussy cut the dry-embossed image and make your own stencil. Yes, it is kind of insane to fussy cut...However, if you do not mind cutting, you can pretty much create ANY stencil with your dies!

Create That Refreshing Look

I am popping in with ANOTHER wheelbarrow card. I can't stop creating with this lovely die. I guess it is that time of the year and wheelbarrow has that homey and heartwarming look.

Altenew Botanical Line Art (Project Kit)

Hello friends!

I am popping in to share a project with this month's Craft Your Life Project Kit.  This Botanical Line Art design is from May and are available to current subscribers only. 

I understand that this is a "commitment" if you sign up with the new subscription. However, I can honestly say that almost never come across with the Craft Your Life Project Kit that I do not like.

As you can probably tell, there is a gradient effect with the Altenew Blends Paper I use.

With that in mind, I stamped the image with two-three shades of yellow.

Easy Stenciling and Dry-Embossing

Here is how I used this Sweet Honeysuckles 3D Embossing Folder

I am using this latest release of glitter paper to add that extra shine. I stamped the background with Dotted Pinwheel Stamp. ( shop Scrapbook.com, Simon Says Stamp).

 Thanks to the coordinating stencil, I was able to apply a very clean inking to the Sweet Honeysuckles 3D Embossing Folder. This set remains to be my favorite ink set for ink-blending (Shop Altenew HERE) .

 At the time of this post, I am not sure when the coordinating stencil will be for sale/available.

This time I chose the warmer color combo and the wheelbarrow now has a different look.

I chose gold foil paper for the trim and instead of a black cat, it is now a taffy cat.

These are many interesting die elements from Garden Builder. which makes the design a fun and easy task.

The sentiment is from one of the last month's Clear Stamp Set.

I had a blast mixing and blending colors to the flowers. Since it is a very large stamp and die set, I decided to use Nesting Slim Rectangles Die Set to capture most of the stenciled images. 

 

 

The new set of Atomic Fresh Dye Ink are super juicy and easy to apply to the stenciled image. The Red Sunset Dye Ink are particularly awesome for your floral images.
