My Top 10 Favorite Cards of 2020

 Hello friends!

Hope this post finds you well. What a year we had in 2020!?

It started out very promising... and then pandemic came around Feb/March here in North America. Like everyone, I did not travel and stay at home all of the time. It prompted to examine my yard and nearby neighborhood with fresh eyes! I discovered a few trails and scenic streets. I also got to know my neighbors way better than ever before thanks to our Santa display and local Food Bank fund-raising. I am grateful that my family of 5 are able to be together during the Christmas holiday.

As always, I look to things that makes me happy and that is, stamping/card-making. I had a prolific year!(My Instagram stats: 2907 followers, 352 posts, 44,384 likes and 5708 comments)!

More Snow-Inspiration

Hello friends!

I know Christmas is over, but the winter is here to stay for a few more months. I have some more snow flake cards to share.

The cling stamps comes with two snowflake image called Fab Flakes (linked below)

The faint background was lifted from the Alcohol Inks (see above).

Joy -002

With the light and magical background, I stamped the snowflake in Distress Oxide. I also clear-embossed the snowflake before die-cutting.

Joy -003

The sentiment is not very prominent as I only added one piece of die cut underneath, It is actually very subtle...almost hidden. I kind of like that!

If you like more dimensions, you can ad 3-4 pieces of dies underneath.

Fab Snowflake

Top TIP : To add a little shine, I placed a piece of Darice silver Washi Tape across before running it through the die cut machine. Then I carefully peel the tape off the unwanted area.

4 cards

Here are the set of 4 cards that I made with Fab Flakes Cling Stamp in one sitting. The top two are alcohol-inked. With the lifted alcohol ink, I created the two bottom cards. Nothing goes to waste!

I hope that you enjoy seeing these as much as I had snow much fun creating them. Do you have a favorite?

Inlaid Die-cutting with Gold Foil and Washi Tape

 Hello friends!

your kindness is appreciated

I am popping in with a quick post about Inlaid-diecutting.  With so many choices of intricate dies these days, we can now easily ace the inlaid technique!

i love U

I am sharing a card I made a while ago. Due to the poor lighting, I hesitate to share this card. The photo doesn't do it justice.... The gold foil paper made it difficult to get a proper photo.

love you

There is hardly any stamping in this. With the stenciling (by using negative leaf die), I created a yellow and green leafy background.

i love u

As you can see I had interesting choice of materials. I used Altenew Washi Tape and Gold foil paper.

Here is another card I made with the Simon Says Stamp Die that is currently 30% off.

I really miss your face

Currently, Simon Says Stamp is having 30% off on Simon exclusive brand discounts on dies.

Use a Border Die with Woven Heart Die

 Hello friends!

I am delighted to share one more card with Woven Heart Die!

This was my card for the release blog hop.

Altenew-Woven Heart Die Set-Celebrate Paper Pack-003

I took advantage of using pattern paper. This card looks complex, but it really is not.thank you

The Woven Heart is not hard to work with. It did take me a few trials and errors to get is just right. Now, let's also talk about the border die (Scalloped Scallops Die).

I used the border die to create 3-sided lace borders. This can be done once you have the card size figured out. Mine is slightly smaller than A2 size.DSC_0055

The key to Woven Heart Die is to use thinner card stock. I would say 60 Lb is good. Since it requires folding and bending, it is best to use thin paper.

Here are my two cards with Woven Heart Die.

Alcohol-inked Snowflake

 Hello friends!

I am sharing another snowflake card. This was the same piece of alcohol-inked paper (see above).

Noel -002
I did try with the Alcohol Life Ink on this one. However, when I white-embossed the snowflake. the powder got on the lifted area ( the top/left one).
Noel -003
This card cane be used both horizontal or vertical due to the way I stamped the sentiment.
It just shows you that if you do not care for the lift ink image, you can still emboss it! Mine was "accidental".

Merry Christmas

Hello friends, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I have a simple card to share. This card just requires one stamp set and one die.

Partial-stamping: I stamped the vine from Rejoicing Cling and created a subtle background.

Merry Christmas

I then made several die cut from Holly Branches and made a simple vine arrangement.

Merry Christmas -001

Oops, I lied. There is one more stamp set that I used to create this card. It is the Ornamented Clear Stamp Set.

Merry Christmas

I love the Distressed edge as it draws our eyes to the focal point. I also applied a lot of glitter like this to add pops of red and dimensions with the berries.

Merry Christmas -002

Here are the set of cards that I create with the new Winter Wishes Penny Black Stamps.
