Simple Elegance

Happy (Black) Friday, friends!
This is my 2nd post for the day. Please scroll down or check out the sale here.

I am popping in to share a simple yet elegant card. 

Card-making doesn't have to be complicated.
 I am using Penny Black Folk Art Christmas Tree Die as an example.

Today's card only requires a few simple element and it's fun to create.

Let's get started.

First, let's take a look at the tree die. After die-cutting, I smeared Distress Oxide all over the tree die.

Once coated and dry, I adhered two more die cut pieces underneath. 

 To add the gilded touches, I took  out my huge jar of Nuvo Radiant Gilding Gold Flakes.

After applying with the Kuretake Zig Memory Glue Pen, I was able to coat the tree with golden flakes. Love the look. 

Next it's about the background. I die cut the card stock with the small rectangle die from Crystal Frame Die. With Embossing Mat, I dry-embossed the frame. 

Next, I masked off the innner frame (with thin strips of paper ) and outer frame in Scattered Straw and Cracked Pistachio. 

I love how this turned out and keep the embellishment to minimum.

One of a Kind Card

Hello friends!

I am popping in with a one of a kind.
When you craft a lot, you are bound to have many leftover pieces on your desk.
That was how today's card came about. It's mesh-up.

It all started with the Build-a-Flower Lavender.

I then took out a piece of inked paper and die cut it with the Lavender die.

Hence, this is the inlaid- die-cutting. 

I did stamped bit of background before I adhered the die-cut panel. Of course, I had to add my own strings with the embossed sentiment to complete it!

Stretch a Square Stamp

Hello friends! 

I am popping in to share a card with some extra stamping.
 This Altenew Stone Mosaic features a 2.6" x 2.6" mosaic background consisting of four layers.

About this stamp: Stamp the solid backdrop layer first in any color of your choice, then fill in the other three layers with either complementary or contrasting colors. The pattern is seamless, so you can extend the pattern to cover larger areas. The set includes ten happy greetings that are sure to put a smile on someone's face. This is a perfect set for experimentation and to have fun with colors!"

For my project, I stamped the Stone Mosaic background twice and created a mosaic rectangle.

It's really is a no-brainer.

I chose soft color combo for this. I love how it turned out. However, once I did the stamping, I was kind of stumped as to what to do next .... in flies the butterflies!

 I then stamped the sentiment in between the mosaic to cover one tiny white line that I missed.
It's not very obvious, but you may see if you look closely. 

To make the design more cohesive, I added a few black splatter and that made a world of difference to me.
