Let's Get MERRY Together!

Hello friends!
Merry & Bright -002

Previously, I made a card using Folk Art Xmas Tree Die
I am back at it again with the same die, but this time, I created one with a total different look.
Part of the fun in stamping is "MERRYING" the stamps together and create something unexpected.
Today's card is one of those!
I changed up the colors and stamped a background to go with the tree.
Merry Christmas

The DIY watercolor paper was actually some space pieces that I have and some were left white.
I thought they looked really neat and decided to doubled up the Folk Art Xmas Tree Die
Pantone Color of the Year 2020 Classic Blue 19-4052
Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.
Do you happen to know that Pantone just revealed the color of the year? Yeah, it is Classic Blue

Merry Christmas
I am loving all the shades of blue in this, don't you?

Merry Christmas

I stamped the background was stamped  with Snowflake Pattern.
This large cling stamp has such lovely snowflake pattern and it covers the entire card front perfectly.
Merry Christmas

Dry-embossing and Coloring with Wavy Outline Dies

Hello friends!
photo-heavy post
It is my turn to share a project or two with you over Altenew Card Blog.
I have two projects with the wonderful Wavy Outlines Dies Set.
This die set will cut out some delicate and whimsical floral images that coordinate perfectly with the Wavy Roses Stamp Set, Dies and Mask Stencil. However, I find that the dies alone offer so much possibilities that I can't stop playing with this set.

I love the ease of coloring the rose petals with various watercolor medium. The Watercolor Brush Markers are so handy for this. In order to secure the die cut pieces, I added  Washi Tape and secured the backing with additional paper.

Once I colored the rose petals and let dry, I die cut the rose once more with Gold Foil Cardstock. Carefully, I adhered the gold outline die onto the colored pieces.

To create a cohesive background with the roses, I once again die cut the Wavy Outline Rose with a dry-embossing mat and colored in the petals and leaves with Watercolor Brush Markers.

The sentiment (from Breezy Bouquet) was stamped in Obsidian Pigment Ink. Since I was having so much fun with this die set, I continued with the same approach and created my 2nd card.  This time I incorporated Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set.

It is so fun and easy to mix in the Altenew Watercolor medium with the Metallic Pan set to add that spectacular shine!

This time I applied Jet Black Cardstock as the outline and the result is so striking against the bright metallic shine.
Noticed the subtle textured background? It is from the the Delicate Mandala Die.  Once it was dry-embossed with the Embossing Mat, I gently applied Mountain Mist over the surface. If you love this look, imagine what you can do with all of your cover dies?

To add the extra gold touches, what can be more prefect than stamping the sentiment ("Fancy Greetings") in Enchanted Gold Pigment Ink?

The splatter from Antique Gold Spray Mist completed the card.  Isn't this Wavy Outline Die simply wonderful? I hope that you feel inspired after seeing this post.

💓💙💚💛💜I would love it that you leave me a comment over Altenew Card Blog.

Happy Winter

Hello friends!
Now that we are into December, it is most appropriate to share a wintery card.
What inspired me first was this Crystal Frame Die from Penny Black.
This frame die set comes with may elements. First, the two frames can be used together, interchangeably or individually.  I used the small inner frame to create this TREE card Simple Elegance. There are two pieces of snowflake and the sentiment "Let It Snow". I can see this can be used in SO many ways!
happy winter

I started off with a ink to paper approach. I smeared the Distress Oxide
(Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio) directly to the watercolor card stock. I then sprayed it with a few spritz of water. Once dried, I did the die cut and ended up with the gorgeous frame!
happy winter

I don't ever get tired of stamping and coloring the birdies and so, that's what I use for the focal point.

happy winter

I also added a light yellow background to the birdies. I then stamped "happy winter" and completed the snow with white Pico Embellisher (can be substituted with Nuvo White Blizzard).
happy winter -002

Sharing this card with you makes me very happy.
