Altenew Crafty Friends Blog Hop Day 1 + Giveaway

I started this very blog back in 2009 and prior to that, I was actively learning about stamping on line.
Throughout the years, I had met some amazing crafters and to this day, we are still in touch and become great friends.

Today I am sharing one of the techniques that I learned from the super fabulous Laura Bassen.
When I watched her Partial Die-cutting video a few years ago,  I thought she did a superb job in explaining and entertaining us crafters! We met up in Chicago and had gourmet pizza together
....she is SWEET and FUNNY, just like her videos!

Here is my take with "Partial Die-cutting".



 I am using Handpicked Bouquet as my example. You would not believe how perfect this die is for Partial Die-cutting. It is long and covers the entire card front horizontally.

I started with stamping the image with shades of pink and green. 



I positioned the cutting board at the bottom and left the upper side completely open. I only needed to trim off the sides and small openings with a Craft knife.

Once I had the die-cut all done, I popped up the image with foam tape and voila!



Card-making not only provides me lots of fun in learning and all sorts of techniques, but it offers me a great opportunity to meet like-minded friends! I happen to travel a lot, I met up with crafty friends from Amsterdam, Chicago, Copenhagen... Liverpool, Minneapolis, Taipei, San Francisco!

Penny Black Feature (Day 4)

 Hello friends!

 Today is my Day 4 (also last!) guest design feature!

Winter Lookout may seem like a simple lovely cling stamp. 
To me, the looking out part offers quite a few possibilities.
 
Today's card is all about adding your own touches to make the design original and unique.
 

The best thing about stamping is that there is no right or wrong.

You can stamp anything that floats your boat/rock your world...however you like to say it.

You know what I mean. 😊

This stamp will also be great one for creating Masculine, Missing you/Thinking of you ...type of cards, too!

Design details: A nature stamp doesn't have to be all about nature. You can create an interesting scene by adding your own touches. For example, white-embossed sentiment and small pieces of a die ( Birds on a Wreath Die ) can all be part of the design elements. Penny Black Feature (Day 2 and 3)

Birds on a Wreath is such a TWEET die!

 

 

 

Title: Tis' The Season

Supply lists with product number name: Peaceful Season (30-498), Birds on a Wreath (51-482), Script (40-470)

Design details: The "Birds on a Wreath" Die was lightly sponged and colored with Distress Oxide. I saved the negative part of the die and temporarily adhered it to card stock. I then stamped one of my favorite Penny Black Stamp "Script" over it. This card may be flat, but it is full of interest and layers!

Design details: One layer is perfect for mailing. Do plan ahead when you think of your design and test it out until you are happy with it. Don't forget to use dies (such as Stitched Stackers) for dry-embossing. It is also fun to combine various stamp sets to create an unique design of your own. Look for stamps that are similar in scales and let your creativity flow!

Altenew November 2018 Stencil/Ink Spray Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

I am super excited to share 4 stenciled/ink-sprayed projects with you.

First up, it is this gorgeous Flowing Butterfly Stencil.
It comes with TWO butterflies....how cool is that.

I couldn't decide which butterfly to use and decided to use BOTH!

The large butterfly was ink-sprayed with the new Cosmic Berry and Puffy Heart.

For the small butterfly, I mixed White Embossing Paste with the ink spray and applied over the stencil.

I used Gold Glitter Washi Tape and sequins to glam it up. 

The sentiment "hello beautiful" is from Inked Rose Stamp Set.

My next card features the very cool Feathered Leaves Stencil .

First I sprayed the Mountain Mist Spray onto Bristol paper, I then took the stencil and dabbed it on another piece of card stock. And that became the background for this card.

The Potted Plants were  stamped, colored and inked with Watercolor Brush Makers.

The sentiment comes from Zinnia Build-a-Flower.

My 3rd card features the Flowing Heart Stencil.


I mixed the white embossing paste with the new Puffy Heart.
The Dotted Washi Tape really comes in handy.

The beautiful sentiment comes from Garden Silhouette Stamp Set.

My last card (alas, you made it) features the Sunburst Stencil.

I used two ink colors to create a fun background. By rotating the stencil each time, you get to create this fun and colorful background.

I used one of my all-time favorite stamp set with Floral Art. The flowers were colored with Watercolor Pan Set. The sentiment also comes from Garden Silhouette Stamp Set.
