Stamping on Kraft Cardstock

Hello friends!

Hope you are having a fine day so far.
I want to share my stamped project this is lovely stamp called Garden Gem.

With the Distress Oxide, it is easy to stamp on kraft card stock.
The great thing about using Oxide is that they blend and mix so nicely with similar tones /colors.

Best wishes to you

I stamped each image numerous times to ensure the colors will be prominent and bright.

best wishes

Once I am happy with the inking, I took out the Embossing Buddy and clear-emboss part of images.
With Embossing Ink like this ( Scrapbook.com) or this you can easily emboss and add gloss and shine.
best wishes (2)

This is a good chance to use the chunkier, grainy type of clear, textured sparkle Embossing Powder, such as this.   Hope this post prompts you to create something colorful with kraft card stock.

best wishes-001

By the way, I did bite the bullet and ordered all the Distress Oxide and Alcohol Lift Ink.
I can't wait to try them out this Fall.

Thank you for stopping by!

I am lucky to have receive this gorgeous cover die called   "Folk Dance"!

i am thinking of you today-002

This cover die is really beautiful with the Nordic floral.
i am thinking of you today

I decided to create a colorful piece of vellum paper with Alcohol Ink and used it as an underlay for the cover die.
i am thinking of you today-003

If you are not comfortable using tons of Alcohol Inks, this is a great way to use it in a subtle and creative way. Yes, alcohol ink projects can be soft and pastel! 😊

I am thinking of you today-001

This is a great way to showcase the intricate cover die without taking too much attention away from it. Also, it is FAIL-PROOF!

The white-embossed sentiment is from EveryDay Message.

Hope you find my idea on using the Cover Die "Folk Dance" useful and interesting.

Spellbinders Winner Announcement and a VIDEO!

Hello friends!
I am popping in to announce the winner of yesterday's Spellbinders "Cut and Emboss" Blog Hop
And Guess what!!? I made a video yesterday!
Your SWEET comments and POSITIVE feedback made me DO IT!  😇

I am so rusty with You Tube video. It's been  a year and half since I made a video! SO many things have changed and this old brain just can't process fast enough.
Please excuse that there is no proper intro and ending...( I made them, but don't know how to add them). So I am just showing the most important part of the video.
On the plus side, it is only over 3 minutes!  😁
Please give this a thumbs-up 👍 if you like to see more!
I think I will just create YT videos under 5 minutes from now on! LOL

Enough of my babbling....

My 3 creations with the Cut and Emboss collection (so far, more to come).

Card #1
thank you-002

Card #2
so thankful for you-001

Card #3
love you

The random winner of the Spellbinders Blog Hop is
Blogger Teri Smith said...
Virginia, we can always count on you to come up with beautiful inspiring cards! I wondered when I first saw your colouring using inks on the raised portions how you did it so well, as if I was using a blending tool, even a finger dauber, I'd have ink in places it was never intended to go. What a great tip you gave!! Not to forget to mention the awesome looking envelopes you created. You are truly talented!

Spellbinders Cut and Emboss Blog Hop (with a Video)

Hello friends!
I am absolutely delighted to share some projects with you.
s

I love these Embossing Folders as they leaves such a clean and crisp embossed image.
Even better, these folders CUT the paper through part of the embossing!

You should be arriving from the blog of  Jennifer Gallacher .
If not, come on in and join the fun and inspiration.
You can find all the details about this hop over Spellbinders .

For my first project, I am using
Floret Cluster Cut and Emboss Folder
Of course, you can use white or color card stock with this embossing folder and you are good to go  either way. I also love the idea of cutting the dry-embossed images out and embellish however you want. Sky is the limit!
So thankful for you

I love adding colors to the dry-embossed images with Distress Oxide.so thankful for you-002

There may be other ways of coloring the images, but I find this method easy and effective.
so thankful for you-001

Since I don't have This Blending Tool, I thought of using the following method.

💡Ding--->  1. use white foam, cut two pieces out and glue 2-3 pieces together
                    2. adhere the white foam onto acrylic blocks  (use clear adhesive tape, if necessary)
                    3. ink up edges with Distress Oxide to add colors
                    4. use more foam for various colors as desired
                    5. peel off the foam tape from the acrylic block when finished
                    6. discard/save foam, clean acrylic blocks

Note:  I thought of this "method" myself. 😁
I find it easy to do and inexpensive. Hope you can give this a try!

With the soft foam on acrylic block, I was able to to add colors to the ridges.

so thankful for you-003

Here is another version of the same technique with a different Embossing Folder.

love you

In this close-up, you can the the embossed details with the shiny copper paper.
love you

The sentiment is part of the dies from "Miss You Swirl" Die.

love you (2)

It takes some practice to color the small images with the foam tape.
I did all the coloring in front of TV and that worked out so nicely!  😀
Be patient, too. If you make some unwanted smudges, cover the spots with sequins and drops (like I did here!). NO one will ever know.

I also did some embossing with the envelopes. It is the EASIEST thing to decorate your envelops. Imagine all the personalized touches with the wedding invites!!?
You definitely will get your money's worth!

Cut and Emboss (Spellbinders)

I simply put the flaps in between the die cut plates and voila!

I hope this post gives you some ideas on these amazing embossing folders.
