Happy Colors=Happy Card

Hello friends!
I am popping in to share a Happy card!
You might already know, what makes a happy card!?
(now back in stock over Altenew!!)

I decided to use a sweet and homey image such as the heart from "Peace Love Joy" and stamped it in assorted bright colors.
This is the result.
Happy Holidays (2)

The beauty of a solid stamp is that you can transform the image with ANY colros that you may desire. As you can see, I stamped my heart out..... (pun intended).

happy holidays (4)

You may think that I didn't need die for this card, well, I did!
Noticed the "Happy Holiday" sentiment?
It was die cut with the heart die (strip only). It now sits perfectly on top of the heart.

Happy Holidays (3)

Hope you like this rendition of this card.
If you like Peace Love Joy Stamp & Die Bundle , you must come back for MORE designs
 on Saturday Oct. 20th!
I am not done with this set yet! 😁

On a happy note, thank you for the wonderful and sweet comments on my dear Father-in-law's birthday celebration. I think the pictures say it all.

One more day for the free gift (Alphabet Puff Stickers) with very order!

The Beauty of Stamping

Hello friends!

Today's card is all about basic stamping.
season's greetings

There is no fancy technique involved....
season' greetings

.... just color-layering stamping and some clear-embossing.
The beauty of Distress Oxide is that they blend nicely and can be clear-embossed after stamping (while the ink is still wet).

πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰ One piece of advice I do have is......
have a piece of scrap paper and baby wipe handy. When you stamp the colors into unwanted area, you can wipe away and STAMP.....and repeat....until you are happy.

season's greetings

You need (YES,....NEED)  Distress Oxide Ink and a good stamping positioner like MISTI.

The beauty of Distress Oxide is that they blend nicely and can be clear-embossed after stamping (while it is still wet).

season's Greetings

I almost feel guilty about sharing the card.
Because .... how can something that is so simple and yet it can yield to such a lovely result?
I guess we can say that it is the beauty of stamping.

Fun ways to use Banner Dies and Washi Tape (& Winner Announcement)

Hello friends!
I am popping in with post about using
and
Party Banner Die Set
Party Banner Die Set

from: ALTENEW

(The Altenew October Stamp Die release blog hop winner is at the end of this very post)

If you don't mind  the fussy cutting, the Washi Tape will be great for that.
I chose the wreath image I want and applied it to a piece of thin card stock (80 lb is good).
happy hello (2)

I fussy cut it out and it is GORGEOUS!

For Party Banner Die,  I applied  a strip of Painted Orchids Washi Tape
and then ran it through the die cut machine.

happy hello (3)

This extra step makes the design more cohesive and adds an extra element to the banner die.
I love that the banner dies has that beautiful edge details....just lovely!

happy hello (4)

The white-embossed sentiment (on black card stock) helps to draw the eyes....
Also, did you noticed the extra sparkle? The Gold Stickles is a good old stand-by!

happy hello

I tied it up with DMC Gold Strings and added some sequins. A happy card is born!

As always, I love all your cards and my fave of this bunch is the first one with the water colored potted plants and the washi tape “floor” - brilliant use for washi tape (I cannot stop collecting!).

Celebrating 92nd Birthday!

Hello friends!
We are celebrating a birthday ...nope, I am NOT turning 92.

It's my Father-in-law Benjamin.
Shapeabilities Miss You Swirl Etched Dies Special Moments Collection by Marisa Job
Miss you Swirl Etched Die from Spellbinders

I want to created a photo frame card for my dear Father-in-law to remind him of our love for him.
He has dementia and no longer recognizes who we are.
I hope this photo card will makes him smile.
love you

Despite his dementia, he continues to be the nicest person and is always so content and pleasant.
The retirement home staff truly adore and love him!
We are continued to be amazed by his grace and manners.

In addition to his photo card, I also made a birthday number card.
This is reminding him how old he is.
92-001

Every time, we tell him how old he is, he always answers:"What...THAT old!!? ME? (pointing to himself)" and then he would laugh and laugh...
And 5 minutes later, we will repeat the same Q&A.

birthday cards

We find it helpful to write things down, so he can read slowly over and over again.
I am glad that I put my supplies and skills into a meaningful use today.
Here is a recent photo of me and my daughter visiting Ye-Ye( Grandpa in Mandarin).
I have listed all the supplies below with the affiliate links, if interested.

More on Potted Plants

Hello friends!
I am popping in with a post about "Potted Plants"!
( now say that 3 times fast!..... lots of "p", right?) 😁
Potted Plants Stamp & Die Bundle
Potted Plants Stamp & Die Bundle

from: ALTENEW

My card today was created for the October Blog Hop and then I decided to share the circle card for the hop.  It may be TMI for one post with two potted plants cards!!?

So, here is the "leftover"---still a goodie, I promise!πŸ˜‰
rise and shine-002

Like my circle card seen in the Release Blog Hop, I used the same approach for the watercolor stamping. Be sure to comment to win in the blog hop post, a lucky $20 Altenew Gift Card winner will be announced on Oct 15th right here in my blog!
Altenew-PottedPlantsStampDie-Virginia #1

The watercolor mix is something that gets me every time.
You just never know until you make it! When it comes to color-mixing, the colors sometimes has a mind of its own. No color-mixing will ever turn out exactly the same or what you originally have in mind. But I guess that is the beauty of watercoloring.
rise and shine-001

To go with the bright colors and sentiment, I thought it is most appropriate to use the Warp Speed Stencil for the background. SO easy to do and SO effective! Wouldn't these images be perfect for making book marks? The stamp set comes with such a nice and encouraging sentiment!

rise and shine

I added two strips of Washi Paper ( Dots in Maple and Leaf) which really grounded the image.
The Washi Tape also provided some extra burst of colors and interest.

And oh...by the way, I did cut a small slit with an Exacto knife at the edge of the pot.
That way, I can "insert" (or shall we say "grow"?) the plant properly!
rise and shine

The sentiment is embossed with Antique Gold Embossing Powder.
Gotta go with the shinny theme, right?
I know this Potted Plant is super popular, get yours before they are gone!
