A CAS card with a Modern Twist

Hello friends! 

I have a super simple CAS card to share.
In fact, I think you can use this card as a sketch/formula.

If you like this design and/or get inspired, please be sure to tag me or e-mail me. I'd love to check it out! Better yet, you can enter your project in next's month's "Show & Share"!

First, I want to point out that the Geometric Elements Stamp set comes with may shapes. This set has some great design and are quite open-ended. I used just two of the stamps. If the cost of die cut is a concern, you can totally fussy cut out the shapes.

For this card, I used Geometric Elements and this month's Paint A Flower.

This image is perfect for loose watercoloring. I love ink-smooshing and that's what I did.

This rectangle with the sentiment really draws our eyes in

... but then the flowers at the bottom makes this card SING, right?

I added a piece of pattern paper and sequins.... it's a HAPPY CARD!

Christmas in July!

Hello friends!

Hope you are having a great day so far.

Can you believe that July is nearly over? 

I happen to have a Christmas card to share.

AND I didn't want to miss the chance to say "Christmas in July". Thus, here;s today's post...

Scrapbook. com and Altenew have an exclusive stamp set called "Winter Florals".

I really love this stamp set as it is well-designed and nicely thought out.

The poinsettia image was stamped with Altenew's Mixed Media Ink. They are so juicy and lovely to ink up. I used all three colors in the red/pink tone. As for the leaves, I also used the mixed media ink.

Once I finished stamping the main image, I had to add more...
I am all about adding touches and details.


I gold-embossed the dainty holly and branches in gold. I applied the colors with Mix Media Ink nad that's it. The sentiment was white-embossed on gold foil paper and popped up. It was so fun to make this card. Did I mention that this stamp is easy to line up? Yup.

Playing with Embellishments and Paper

Hello friends!

I am sharing a super simple card with embellishments and pattern paper.

I said it is simple...because it really is.

I started out with the wreath ephemera and started to add each element as I went along.

I decided to pop up the wreath with foam tape. I then added a piece of yellow paper from the Celebrate Paper Pack (listed below).

I did stamp the sentiment with various colored ink at the bottom for details and interest. 


For that extra oomph, I throw in some gold thread and splatter.....
and call it a card!  Here are my two cards with this paper pack and embellishments.

Alter The Stamp Images!

Hello friends!

I have fun project to share today. 

When I saw the stamp Barrels of Bloom from Penny Black, I was instantly intrigued.

I love the overall feel of this stamp. However, I already thought about extending the use of this cling stamp. If you example the stamp set carefully, you can change it up a bit.
And that's how I came up with today's design.

edited: in this card, I masked off the "water spigot" and stamped the butterflies instead.

The butterflies from Soulful Silhouette fit perfectly in this scene.
Both Soulful Silhouette and Barrels of Bloom are available over Simon Says Stamp.

 I have been experimenting water-coloring/ink-smooshing more lately.

I gradually added each layer of colors with Zig Markers and was careful not to use too much water.
The paper was just your basic white card stock (110 lb), not watercolor card stock.

This actually took me a while to get the color and layering just right.

It is this artsy look look that I was going for.
Lastly, details, details....

 I wanted to add that extra "something" to this colored image, so I took out the Dainty Dasher Dies and use only one part of the frame for dry-embossing.

I hope my card gives you some extra ideas on stretching your dies!

Add Gradiant and Textrues with a Stencil

Hello friends!

I am excited to share today's project because it turned out beautifully (if I can say so myself). 

You know how it is.... when you have an idea as to how you are going to execute some design elements, sometimes the plans just do not work out! 

Today's card is not the case. 

I have this new Altenew Trellis Stencil and wanted to use Embossing Paste with it. 

First of all, let's not focus on the Craft-A-Flower Lily

It is all about that background.  I started out with apply Lake Shore on the acrylic blocks and added small amount of Embossing paste. I then mixed some with the most ink and some with less ink.

I then applied the paste over the stencil and ....took a break.... let that dry.

I proceed to work on my Lily. This 3D die is absolutely gorgeous and easy to assemble. If you love Lily and 3 D Dies, I highly recommend this Craft-a-Flower Lily.

 Once all the pieces all started to fall into place, I stamped the Mega Label  Love Stamp set.

Finally, I added the new embellishments with the Enamel Dots and how easy and lovely is this card? 
Her is the final look of my 4 stenciled card with the Altenew release.
