100% Stamped Thank-you Card

Hello friends!

Has spring arrived in your part of the world? It sure has appeared in my neck of the woods.
We now have melted snow, warmer temp and lots of rain.

I am sharing a Spring card that I created yesterday and hope this will brighten your day.

I am using Dazzle Cling Stamp as my example. 

This stamp has the perfect composition for tulip-stamping.

I stated out with stamping the tulips leaves and stems. By using all shades of green (with Distress Oxide), the stems and leaves are more life-like. This can be easily done with stamp-positioner like MISTI. The same principle goes with stamping of the bulbs.

Once I was happy with the stamping, I clear-embossed part of the tulips and ink-blended the Distress Oxide to the background.

At the end, I couldn't resit using the Pretty Picket Fence for the embellishments. This border die is a must-have if you have lots of floral images.
I will be back for MORE inspiration with the Pretty Picket Fence.

One thing for sure, I am finally mailing out more cards since I am spending all of my time at home. 

I also keep busy with cooking, cleaning and baking. If you follow my Instagram, you will often see "My Story" showing you what I have been up to with my Lego adventure as well.

Use that Washi Tape AND Stencil

Hello friends! 

I am popping in to share a card with the use of Washi Tape AND Stencil. 

If you are challenged to create masculine cards, today's post may be helpful to get you started.

I am using Gold Spatter Washi Tape for the die cut stars

 and Linear Stencil for the background. 

 I am often drawn to the geometric shapes and designs.
This is one of those designs that came easily simply because I have them in my stash.

This design is made easy thanks to the bright stars on the Washi Tape.
To keep the theme monochromatic, I use all blue for stenciling and inking. The lighter blue stars are from my DIY paper stash.


To go with the gold on the Washi Tape, I added a few gold sequins for embellishments.


My hubby Dr. John's birthday is coming up soon and I think this one will be perfect for him!

If you have a few birthdays coming up, this might be a good time to create a few.

Use That Alcohol-inked Paper

Hello friends!

I have a very organic and rustic card to share today.

It started out with a piece of alcohol-inked paper that I created.

At that time, I was not too impressed with my DIY paper.

However, once I got out the new Penny Black stamp "Country Charisma" and Die "Creative Curves",  things started to look up.

I decided to keep part of the die cut pieces in tact because the color mix from the Alcohol Ink were  beautiful. Thus, I only took part of the pieces off.

I then stamped and die cut the flower pieces from
"Country Charisma" with the Coordinating Die.

This set also comes with coordinating dies which I used in this card.

Lastly, I white-embossed the sentiment on black cardstock.


I love how this turned out. It truly was a very satisfying process. I highly encourage you to "just play" with your supplies and enjoy the process. It is relaxing and therapeutic.
I will be back with another post on how to stretch the Creative Curve Die.

Create an Artsy Background with Ink-Smooshing

Hello friends! 

I have a simple card share today.

 In case you are experiencing a little bit of creative slump, today's card may be helpful. 

I started out with embossing the image from Paint-a-Flower Iris  in Antique Gold.

The "secret weapon" in this card is the new Watercolor Paper!
 This paper is so absorbent and white. It also doesn't warp at all.

I took out a piece of acetate and applied waterclor on it. I let it dry in between and inked up some more. With each layer, I was able to create more shades of colors and depth.
This is the so-called "ink-smooshing".

Today's card truly is a child's play. Hope you get to do some!

I am creating this card for my dear Mom who lives in Taiwan. I am missing her so much.

I stamped Paint-a-Flower Rose in three colors and die cut the focal point with Rounded Rectangles Die. I then colored the image with Artist Markers and clean-embossed the entire piece.

To highlight this colored piece, I popped up the extra dies underneath. Basically, it's another take on Spotlighting technique.

I die cut the word MOM from Fine Alphabet Die Set since the size and style fit this design perfectly.
