Stamping with Watercolor Markers

Dreams of Love
I have a two-fers to share today because it is just that easy to create multiples when you are having fun and all the supplies are all out.

I am trying out this stamp with Zig Markers and boy, was it ever fun! 

 With the Dreams of Love Matching Die, I die cut the flower when dry.

Thanks to the supplies, this card was made possible easily.

I added the Floral Strips Die  underneath the flower and stamped the sentiment.

As the cards have bold colors, I decided to keep embellishment minimum.
A few droplets of glitter with Glossy Accent will do.

Dainty Blooms Cover Die

I am popping in to share a colorful card with the Altenew Cover Die

Dainty Blooms

This card may seem like it takes a while to create, but it really was easy since I took some short cut.

Basically I am sharing how easy it is to hack a cover die! 

hack #1: pattern paper:
Altenew "Live You Dream" Collection was my way out. It has some gorgeous color paper. I decided to cut a piece and ran it through the die cut machine. Easy, but then...what next?

hack #2: ink sponge through the cover plate

I took the inspiration from the color of the paper and applied inks through the cover die. 
With the cover die in place over the white card stock, you can add more intense color.
I used ink sponge dauber for this purpose and they work like a charm!

On a side note about ink-blending tools, there have been so much hype about fancy and colorful ink-blender..... Would I love this or this? Absolutely! 
 While I may drool over them, but honestly, I find that I am quite content with regular  ink sponge dauber and Foam from Ranger. 
 

But then.....I digress.
My ink-blending job is not spectacular, but my humble sponges will do.

hack #3: add glitter and shine

Adding glitter and shine is the easiest way to highlight the colors. I want to let the colors come though the cover die, so a little of shine goes a long way.

Now that summer is here, I am finding it hard to do a daily post.

I love to keep up with my garden/yard and run/walk in my neighborhood.

Die Cutting with a Twist

Hello friends! 

I have been wanting to use this darling "Golden Dance" set from Penny Black.

Over the weekend, I finally got around to it.
The focal point was easy to figure out. You just need to stamp, color and use the coordinating die.
I colored the flowers and pot with my Zig Markers.

(all highlighted text are listed at the end of this post)

 I must say that this stamp is coloring-friendly! 

All the images were super easy to color and it was really satisfying to once again use my limited Zig Markers.  The great thing about Zig Markers is that the markers' color never disappoint.
They are easy to add/blend shades thanks to the super fine tips of the Markers.

Once I colored the images, I decided to use the Square Frame Die for the background.

To achieved the dry-embossed look (here's for you, Coni), I sandwiches the die with the tan embossing mat and ran it through the Platinum 6 Machine.

👉👉So, here is the "twist".

Once the die was dry-embossed, leave it as it (do not remove the die).

Ding---> with the frame die in place, I sponged the area inside the frame with Distress Oxide. This is an easy and effective way to add color within the die frame. Not only that this is easy to do, you are also left with a prefect frame within your die!

 I then decided to add the white-embossed birthday sentiment with a small string.
I pierced a small hole and tied it around the potted flowers.

I hope you like this simple yet detailed design with a polished look.

Turn Scraps into a Design Element

Happy Sunday!

I am popping in with a quick post about how I used my scraps and turned them into a design element.

This Spring, I helped with Altenew with the ScrapFest. 

With the preparation for Make and Take, my helper Kiran help me cut up strips of paper.

We had a lot of fun creating, but we also had a LOT strips of pattern paper left.

I stored them in the plastic bag and didn't want to throw them away. 

This past Friday, I deiced to weave the paper!

I used Altenew's Label Die to create the focal point.
I placed a piece of thin copy paper before I started the paper-weaving process.

In my card, I used "Forever in Love" to stamp around the card stock.

The sentiment is from Needle Work Motif Stamp Set
This lovely set also comes with small sentiment which is perfect for my design.
