Dainty Blooms Cover Die

Hello friends!!
I am popping in to share a colorful card with the Altenew Cover Die
http://shrsl.com/1nztj

This card may seem like it takes a while to create, but it really was easy since I took some short cut.
Basically I am sharing how easy it is to hack a cover die!
we are better together

hack #1: pattern paper:
Altenew "Live You Dream" Collection was my way out. It has some gorgeous color paper. I decided to cut a piece and ran it through the die cut machine. Easy, but then...what next?

we are better together-001

hack #2: ink sponge through the cover plate

I took the inspiration from the color of the paper and applied inks through the cover die
With the cover die in place over the white card stock, you can add more intense color.
I used ink sponge dauber for this purpose and they work like a charm!

On a side note about ink-blending tools, there have been so much hype about fancy and colorful ink-blender..... Would I love this or this? Absolutely!
While I may drool over them, but honestly, I find that I am quite content with regular  ink sponge dauber and Foam from Ranger.

we are better together-002

But then.....I digress.
My ink-blending job is not spectacular, but my humble sponges will do.

hack #3: add glitter and shine
we are better together (2)

Adding glitter and shine is the easiest way to highlight the colors. I want to let the colors come though the cover die, so a little of shine goes a long way.

Now that summer is here, I am finding it hard to do a daily post.
I love to keep up with my garden/yard and run/walk in my neighborhood.
You can may see my posting lots of flower photos over my IG (my story). 🌸🌷🌼🌻
If you see my less frequent posting here, that is because I am being outdoor and enjoying the fine weather while it lasts.... I hope you do the same, too!

That die is on my wishlist & I love the colorful card you made with it, Virginia! By the way, if you decide you want some blending brushes--I got some for $9 on Amazon & they look exactly like the ones for $50 at Picket Fence! Must admit, they're nice to have for soft blending & worth $9--not $50!

Love the halo effect your ink blending through the cover die achieved. It's really ethereal looking. Really makes this card extra special.

Love your color choices for your lovely card. The daubers do a great job and you can get into small spots. What s great idea to ink over the cover die.
