Super Intricate Die with No Fuss

Hello friends!

I can't believe that it's the last day of March. Where did all the time go? I am so enjoying blogging and sharing my creations and I love spending time with you here. In case I don't say it often enough....

πŸ’—Thank you for your visits and spending a few minutes to see what Virginia's up to...πŸ’“

hang in there-001

Well, I am back to share another intricate die- Lily of the Valley from Spellbinders.

hang in there-002

When I saw the sample photo, I wonder if I could make something that beautiful....Yes, I often doubt myself. I guess I always have the Imposter Syndrome. Anyhow, I decided to give it a go and see if I am do the die justice.

hang in there

After fiddling around it, I came up with a decent result, I think. The petals are not as rounded as the sample photo, but I do love it to be partially opened. You can see the inside of the petals and that is just lovely, isn't it?

hang in there

Once I inserted the petals into the stems' tiny hole, it was all easy. I love how serene this card looks and chose one of the sentiment "hang in there" from previous Spellbinders stamps.

hang in there -001

I am trying my best to "hang in there" as there is still a shortage of Covid vaccine in this parts of Canada. I am not sure how much longer we will have to wait. Meanwhile, I will just continue to blog and make cards. Sounds like a plan! πŸ‘Œ

thank you -001

Here is another card from the same release (scroll down to see yesterday's post)

I have listed a few other items from this release for your reference.  Please check out HERE if you are making any purchase of Spellbinders products. Thank you for stopping by!

Working with Instricate Dies with Ease

 Hello friends!

I am delighted to share a project with very intricate dies with you. Spellbinders has some awesome March release. I was somewhat skeptical when I saw the actual dies...

Hyacinth Etched Dies (Spellbinders)
from Susan's Spring Flora by Susan Tierney-Cockburn

Like... is it possible to create what you see on the project photo?

Well, guess what!? To see and do is to believe.THANK YOU-002

As usual, I like to make my own paper with Distress Oxide. This was made easy thanks to the Distress Ink Spray. I sprayed the paint onto my watercolor paper and then used a heat gun to dry it.

DSC_0107

I admit, that it did take some patience to adhere one tiny petal at a time. I stamped the sentiment from one of the stamps set from the previous card kit.thank you

BUT honestly, it was fun and therapeutic to create this project that after doing it for a few minutes. I started to enjoy it as the Hyacinths started to "bloom" in front of my eyes!thank you

One thing I 'd suggest that you will need to use one of  Stylus tools (see here). I have also listed a few others that will also work. This tool will help to add that extra dimensions to the petals.

thank you -001

I have listed a few other items from this release for your reference. I have more to share! Hope you are enjoying milder temperature as I do. Thank you for stopping by!

Two Cool Cards with Radial Butterflies Cover Die

 Hello Altenew friend!

It's my turn to share project(s) over Altenew Card Blog. This time, I am fluttering by with two projects featuring Radial Butterflies Cover Die. I am excited to show you how I only die cut once to create two very different butterfly cards! Let's start with Card #1.

**All products (highlighted in bold) used are listed at the end of this post**

Altenew-Radial Butterflies Cover Die-Fancy Celebrate Die

Important: Before I started, I adhered the Classic Crest Solar White 80 Lb card stock to the Masking Paper. This will give the entire sheet with the adhesive backing.

I then ink-blended the background by using the Small Ink-Blending Brushes. Starting from the top, I applied Pink Diamond, Citrus Burst, Mountain Mist and finished it off with Magenta. I then die cut Radial Butterflies Cover Die and saved all the butterflies for my next card. I then die cut Fancy Celebrate Die with Gilded Ombre Washi Tape.

For the embellishments, I also die cut the Radial Butterflies Cover Die with Gilded Ombre Washi Tape. This ensured that the entire card has a cohesive look.Altenew-Radial Butterflies Cover Die-Fancy Celebrate Die-003

Remember that I saved all the extra butteries from the die-cutting?  Thanks to the Masking Paper, I could easily position them in a cascading fashion. I then did some masking and did more ink-blending.

Altenew-Radial Butterflies Cover Die-Tall Alpha Stamp-Masking Paper

This time,  I used nearly the same colors with a few more bold colors such as Coral Berry , Maple Yellow and Azurite.

Once I finished ink-blending, I peeled off the butterflies and re-positioned them around the negative white space. I managed to stamp "thanks" ( Tall Alpha Stamp Set)  without any issue because the butterflies are can be moved around. For the final touches, I added a few Satin White Sequins.  I absolutely love cards with a bit of movement.

Aren't Cover Dies so fun and versatile? I hope this gives you an extra idea on using Radial Butterflies Cover Die.  You can definitely try out with other cover dies such as Radial Hearts and Radial Stars

Simon Says Stamp "All the Feels" Release

Hello friends!

Simon Says Stamp has a new Spring release called "All The Feels".

EDITED: this is not part of the blog hop, but you can still use the coupon code for FREE die (see the end of this post)

I am sharing a project that I created with Tiny Stars Party Die.

This die comes with the various sizes of the tiny stars. I thought it look really cool as is. I chose a few Simon Says Stamp ink colors and swiped them all over the white card stock.

Mini Stars Party (Virginia Lu)

This Ink to Paper approach is always effective and requires no special tools. Just ink and paper.

Because the ink was slightly wet after die-cutting, all the tiny stars were still in place (within the die). I then carefully tuned it over and applied tiny bit of liquid glue. I then positioned the die and glued the stars to paper.

hello

This was rather easy to do. With the negative die over the tiny stars, I applied a thin layer of Ranger Stickles (Moon dust) glitter. Let dry.

hello -001

I then stamped the sentiment Magnolia Cottage and finished this CAS card. I am listing the entire release for your shopping convenience. Thank you for stopping by!

Bee Kind/How to Save a "Mistake"!

 Hello friends!

I am popping in with a BEE Kind card. This set of stamps and dies were so popular that they were sold out as soon as they were leased.

Be Kind is now back in stock, so be on the look out if you are interested. My plan for this card was to have the bee positioned right in the center.

bee kind

I did some masking and dry-embossing. There is a letterpress effect around the bee if you look closely.

bee kind -002

I also love the idea of having flowers as part of the background, so I took out Enchanted Roses and stamped part of the image on the side. This Enchanted Rose stamp set is huge!

Bee kind -001

For the final touches , I thought to add more splatter. I was quite pleased how this card was turning out.... SPLAT! A huge drop of yellow splatter landed right in the middle!  It clearly looked like a "mistake"!

be kind -001

So, I stamped another die cut bee and added to the design. It's ALL good. πŸ˜…
