Stamping With Impressionist Style

Hello friends!

I finally got around to do some stamping with this Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Silhouette.

 DSC_0037

I started out with stamping the image multiple times. In between, I misted and sprayed the stamp with water repeatedly.

I am here for you -001

As you can tell, I had a ton of inky fun. For each color, I took out many shades of ink. For example, I used nearly every green for Distress Oxide. The same with the flowers and buds.

I am here for you

Once I was happy with the image and let it dry. I ink-smooshed some more colors for the background. You may think that my photo is out of focus. However, due to my multiple stamping with water, the images became slightly blurry.

I am here for you -002

This card reminds me of the Impressionism.

From Wikipedia: Impressionism is a 19th-century art movement characterised by relatively small, thin, yet visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on accurate depiction of light in its changing qualities (often accentuating the effects of the passage of time), ordinary subject matter, unusual visual angles, and inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception and experience.

Last but not the least.... Whether you are celebrating Halloween or not, you can not escape the decoration,  merchandise,.... and CANDY, of course. I am sharing my one and only Halloween card this year to keep up with the spirit!

boo -001

I actually love eating candy corn. I am not sure sure Candy Corn got such a bad reputation. Some jokes even mention that Candy Corn is kind of weird and yet it exists.... 😁😂

Papercrafting Fun with Dies and Pattern Paper

Hello friends!

I am back with more Lovely Envelope inspiration. This die set is one of the Stand-alone Dies release and I just love everything about it. Since I made another version, I thought I'd share some more about it.

This time, I used pattern paper with all the die-cutting.love you

It is always so quick and easy when you use a set of pattern paper. To give this card an extra oomph,
I ran the background with Simple Frame Embossing Folder.

love you -002

You can also create similar effect by using Mix & Match Die with embossing tan mat.

 love you -001

The sentiment is from the Rose Tea Stamp set. Love that one!

love you

If you like this look without a ton of work, this die set should be considered!

Combining Stamps

Hello friends!

Hope this post finds you well. I slowed down my posting in the last few days due to some much needed rest and home projects. It is always good to spend some time reevaluate things.

Fall is in full swing in my neck of the woods and I couldn't help creating this card.

DSC_0009 (8)

I started out with stamping the pumpkins. Starting with the middle one, I masked just one pumpkin and stamped the other on both side.

so thankful -005

It is always fun to add a little bit of unexpected color. For me, it is the pumpkin on the right. I was impulsive and for some unknown reason, I reached out for Pine Needle Distress Oxide. At first, I thought I ruined it...but now, I kind of like that patch of green in the mix!

My next step is to stamp the upper part of the Autumn Majesty.

so thankful -004

I then carefully, ran the entire image through die cut machine with Zig Zag Stackers Die.

so thankful -006

I omit part of the sentiment and stamped just "so thankful" (from Thankful For You) in the middle. This is a really fun card to create. Hope you like it, too! Thank you for stopping by!

Bloom & Grow

Hello friends!

I am delighted to be part of the Paper Crafters Unite Against Racism IG Hop today.

The goal of this hop is to continue to raise awareness about anti-racism; to stand with our BIPOC, AAPI, Palestinian, and Indigenous communities, and to encourage everyone to continue learning and to start taking action. Injustice Anywhere is Injustice EVERYWHERE. We are all one humanity and should find a way to #showup for equity and equality, in a way that makes sense for YOU.

Be sure to check it out today at 3pm EDT at my IG HERE.

I am not an activist, but I do what I can as any good citizens should. I voice concerns and ideas about Inclusion within my local community. I try to be a good model Asian citizen that I can and promote #stopasianhate #stopaapihate. I created this card based on the belief that we can all bloom and grow if we all stay united and strong. Please support this hop and help share this important message.

Here is my project with Flowing Foliage.

together will will

I am only using two of the dies from this set and created a bouquet with leaves of various colors. The design was inspired by the "same but different" look from the blog hop logo.

bloom & grow

As you can see, I used 6 different color of paper which symbolize the different skin color.

together we will

I paired it up with the sentiment from "Bloom & Grow". The background paper is from Gel Printing Pattern paper.

bloom & grow -001

I also added a few pieces of Gold Washi Paper to the paper before diecutting. These leaves now have a bit of shine and interest.

What do you think? I hope that you check out the Instagram Blog Hop and be inspired by the participating paper crafters.

3 Ways to Get Inky With White Cardstock

Hello friends! It's my turn to share a project with you over Altenew Card Blog.

White cardstock is the most basic supplies we have in our craft stash. Today I am sharing a project that uses only white cardstock. If you love colors and details, you must check out today's post. With simple color-layering, you can easily build up a bright and colorful design.

Ink-Blending

Let's get inky with the white cardstock (Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock-110 lb) . I treated it as a white canvas and started adding my first layer of color-blue.  You can choose any of the Altenew sets of ink. I find it therapeutic to ink-blend the Glacier Caves Crisp Dye Ink with Mini Blending Brush Set. Thanks to the super fine brushes, you will not get any harsh lines with the ink-blending.

Apply Washi Tape

Next, I applied two strips of Gold Foil 1Inch Washi Tape across the Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock-80lb). I then die cut it with the newly released Simple Shape Cover Die.  This is the fast and easy way to add shine to your cover die.

Coloring

Now it's time to die cut and color the Painted Blooms Die Set. You can do ink-blending with these dies. I decided to color them with the Nature's View Artist Markers. I color-layered with each petal and leaves by using various ink with great contrast. You do not need to be a color expert to do this. Simply get your Artist Markers out (preferably in 3 shades) and start coloring!

The coloring didn't take long at all. I then arranged the flowers and leaves to my liking. You can now see the various depth and textures with each color and layering. For the sentiment (PAF-African Daisy), I white-embossed "thanks" ( Pure White Embossing Powder) over Jet Black Cardstock.

Hope today's post inspires you to add your own color-layering to your white cardstock.  I appreciate that you stop by Altenew Card Blog. Have a fabulous day!

Altenew-PAF Rosa Floribunda-Watercolor Woodless Pencils-Trellis Stencil-Mix & Match Frame Die

I love using the Watercolor Pencils for adding shading. I used just the regular card stock (110lbs).

The Trellis Stencil was placed over the colored image . since it is very controlled water-coloring, I was able to color through the stencil without messing up with using too much water

I carefully ran it though the Mix & Match Frame Die. This gives the overall design a very polished look. I added some more silver metallic thread and this card is finished!
